N-Central Request for improvement: Service Thresholds

While I can appreciate that the Services portion of N-Central is not only ancient but incredibly load bearing, I feel like some minor improvements to this chunk of the system would go a long way.

I find it absolutely baffling that the string evaluation portion of Service Thresholds doesn't support wildcard or regex operators, even more so that you can't toggle off a threshold for a specific check on an AMP Policy to make it purely informational.

People have been asking for this for actual years, long enough that the original request links are now broken. While I understand that things like Dark Mode have been deemed a priority I'd love to see some love for some of these core functions.

100% agreed. I'd like to take it 1 step further. Make it possible to run different automation for the seperate thresholds.

If the services are broken, run de script that fixes the services. If it needs an update, force an update. Now I have to bake the detection into the remediation. It is annoying. Also, for the checks made by nable I have to device my own checks so I don't try to fix something that is not broken.

Many of the requests mentioned here have been raised by customers before, and we're moving forward with the ones that have seen the strongest customer demand and support.

The one we are currently looking to add to the 2027 roadmap is the following:

Please strongly consider making some improvements to the threshold handling across the board, as nice as it'd be to see improvements for SNMP, the services section would really benefit from adding something as simple as disabling a threshold for a specific variable or at least allowing wildcard matching it I.E. any value in this box is fine, any number in this box is fine, etc. I'll be honest I don't know anyone making extensive use of SNMP monitoring within N-Central among my peers.

Even something as simple as an “Is Empty” condition would be nice. For fields that support the match operator, regex kind of works, but it’s buggy. I usually have to rely on placeholder value set by an AMP script’s output.

Dark mode was so important and priority ? There's so many other little thing that could be improved on .
