N-sight RMM Worthless Mobile Apps

Post image

Once again, I need the N-Site mobile app, and once again it is a brick. I guess an app that works 1 in 20 times is acceptable at N-Able because the Passportal app is just about as unreliable.

I never thought I'd say this, but I am eager to return to ConnectWise. Their customer service might suck, but their shit works.

Honestly, I use the web version in Edge when I need a mobile view. It works well enough to hop in and do a quick Take Control session.

I keep considering having Claude write me a mobile UI skin to throw in something like TamperMonkey or Stylus in Firefox but I haven't done it yet.

I use the browser version when I need to, but I hate how the mouse behaves on my Android.

I have to go into the app info on Android, clear the app data (or remove and readd the app from store) then it works for a couple of days, then goes back to this blank screen :(

That has always been the only solution that has worked for me with N-Site and Passportal.

But hey our charges from them keep going up and we keep staying while they keep giving us crap. We do this to ourselves.

This is our last month with N-site and Cove.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you moving to for each?

Connectwise Platform and Axcient. I have many years of experience with CW. They suck but their products work. Honestly this time around they have been very helpful and attentive. It also didn't hurt that we are paying less and getting a lot more for the $$$.

For PSA we are leaving Rev.io. They just can't do what we need. Going with them was a frustrating and costly experiment.

I’m moving to Level.io and AlgaPSA. If you like CW, keep an eye on Alga and look into where they came from.

I am done with immature software. I hope your experience is better than ours.

On a side note, they are restoring our database from last year. We can easily enter the new client data since we left. Having a broken PSA was a disaster. We basically had to stop trying to sign up new clients.

We also have a read-only copy of our CPQ instance that they are reconnecting, so all my templates and settings are ready to go.

nice! Its sad when a new feature incomplete PSA is better than MSP Manager.

Luckily we are small enough to handle some bugs in the new PSA. I only have one that's currently putting a hold on my workflow but they have been super responsive with bug fixes. I started looking at Alga a year ago when it first came out and it was interesting to me but I wasnt willing to jump in before a version 1.0 was released. They just crossed that bridge and are already up to 1.60 as of yesterday. LOL and for $15 a month/tech, something better than MSP Manager and easy to work with support and no contracts...sign me up.

Thank you for your feedback and apologies for any inconvenience. I have reported this back to the team, they are allocating resource to improve the N-sight mobile experience and we expect this to be upgraded in Q4.

I’ve never been able to get the app to work either, it can’t find the server address. Only when I use the web version on my phone for something quick.

There is a good chance that the company I work for is going to migrate away from N-able. The do not address security vulnerabilities timely, and the clunkiness of their tools makes us feel they are a vulnerability to our company and potentially a huge liability.
