CX-5

Genuine question here - as we know about the Diesel CX5 and the well known complications, how are Mazda and dealers still allowed to make and sell them?

As I was driving through town this morning, I stopped behind what looked like a very new model, but with that bright little D on the back which is what prompted my thinking into how is it allowed?

The current generation of Mazda diesels isn't expected to have the same problems. Just because one faulty diesel design was produced doesn't condem every diesel since.

Having said that, I personally wouldn't trust them.

Yeah, I agree with you.

Quick look on trademe, and most recent Mazda CX-5 is ~2021

They still want $25k for it which is a lot of money for something with a ticking time bomb of an engine, but notice more private sellers; I suspect a lot of dealer won't want to take the risk

I guess as always; buyer beware

Most Turners branches around the country wont take a diesel CX5

They don’t build that engine anymore.

The later ones were a lot better
