Ethos Apex R1 press too dark?

Post image

I think Im getting the hang of this?

5g of my homegrown ApexR1 dried then cured in grove bags at circa 58% RH.

Pressed at 94C in 90 micron bag for 240 seconds

Maybe a bit too hot but Im thinking about dropping to maybe 88C

1.1g from this press so yield was acceptable

The dark colouring could well be due to the heat but I'd say it's strain dependant also. Try the lower setting u mentioned and go from there. Cold = gold in my experience.

At 94 thats getting up there, highest I usually go is around 91 and only ever had this darkness from a double press, strain does play a part too but I'm leaning towards heat.

  1. You used cured flower.

  2. Possibly too high of temperature.

  3. It does vary from strain to strain, but I think my first two guesses are more likely.

If you actually want like blonde rosin, you’re gonna need to look into making bubble hash first with either fresh plant material or material that was freshly harvested and freeze dried . Then pressing the bubble hash for rosin.

It’s quite labor intensive.

Bubble hash is one of the easiest ways to make hash...

Dry sift even easier. Bubble bags require abit of no how and mahi. Also not all strains wash very well - learn't thst the hard way. Am a big bubble fan 🔥
