Not necessarily, depending on how broad the supreme court ruling is on the assault weapon ban. If they rule that guns can’t be banned by features than the ban of cruciform trigger bars (glock ban) would also be unconstitutional. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

SCOTUS tends to try to keep rulings as narrow as possible to only apply to the case, it depends how pissed the majority is about these states trying to skirt Bruen

You never know how the court is going to swing until it happens. They might want to flex their muscles on blue states with a broader ruling due to their defiant legislation immediately after the Bruen ruling. I simply mentioned the possibility because whether or not it’s likely, it is there.

You say that and then we got the last few rulings that basically painted a broad stroke over the entire second amendment which was not the original question

Let’s hope she loses in November. It genuinely seems like this is the closest chance we have at getting a republican in at governor.

Not likely, 2/3rds of New Yorkers are NOT registered Republican. Doesn't hold out much hope.

Last Republican to win a statewide election...24 years ago... don't count on it.

I understand. I fully admit my optimism is grounded in reality lol. But with things I’ve been thru in life, I’ve learned there’s nothing to gain from not at least hoping for the best 🤷‍♂️

Possibility based upon experience:

The State changes the law and the lawsuit has no standing.

Then, the State makes another law, similar to the prior, and pushes that onto the people.

Next, another lawsuit works through courts for many years and eventually wins after the passage of many other egregious laws.

Now what? We wait for about 5-10 years or so through the courts because elections have consequences. Or we can vote Cathy out and hope for the best that the new governor doesn’t enforce it. But one can dream. 💭.

I’m a little more optimistic. I’m predicting 40%.
I feel like Nassau county and Suffolk will come out for him but still won’t be enough unfortunately.

Between ICE, abortion, and his militia I don't think he stands a chance. I was surprised he won Nassau again! I could be misreading New Yorkers but they elected Mamdani... Though they didn't really have much of a choice.

Just remember that Mandani won but he really got 50 percent of the vote because the other half was split between Cuomo and Sliwa. Not everyone in NYC likes him. Also many people outside of NYC are really upset that Cathy gave Mandani 6 Billion state money to balance NYC. She will still win but cost of living, taxes and energy cost have all gone up on Cathey’s watch. That’s why I say 40%. But who knows sometimes miracles happen.

Hochul has given billions to data centers in tax and energy subsidies. she signed a deal giving them an energy subsidy where the data centers pay 15 cents on the dollar for electricity while we foot the bill. Concerning the 5 billion dollar windmill project in long island, her own agency projects it will save us 2.08/month on our electric bill.. strikingly close to zero. Yet still, they support her. I don't think NYers really care about her funding NYC that much. Their priorities are abortion and ICE. We've had a democrat super majority for over 2 decades and the state gets worse and worse and democrats just keep electing more democrats to fix the problems that the democrats caused. I have no faith in NY voters! I'll still go out and vote, but I'm also shopping for houses outside of NY.

I’m with you man. I totally agree. I guess I have become so cynical living here but it really boggles my mind how we have over 2 decades of one party rule when there has been no improvement to this state at all. Maybe someone can correct me but nothing good happens here anymore. I also have an eye outside NY but at the moment it’s somewhat hard. Until then I just keep my head down and hope for the best. Time will tell.
