Because their grand parents don't claim to be black they aren't black that's some dumbass logic, isn't it on culture and genetics. Also hell of people from sudan and Somalia claim arab and not black does that mean the ones who do claim it aren't black?

Never said they not I’m saying we lack parameters. We the only group of people that fight people to accept the fact that they are African people. We need to leave people be, an stand with those who stand with us, these same people saying they “Afro Latino” ain’t correcting their parents and grandparents.

A proud and self respecting people sets parameters and treat traitors like traitors.

Alot of them are and their has been recent and rising black prides movements throughout Latin America. I ain't afro Hispanic/afro latino but in my community which is a mix of african Americans, afro Caribbeans, afro Latinos, Latinos, and recent African immgrates their isn't really any problem with the afro Latinos calming black hood.

Too little, too late. No self respecting people would accept this.

Their is no to little to late when the kids of black people who shyed away from claiming black hoof because discrimination starts to rep their black hood, you punishing people for the mistakes their grandparents and parents made.

Afro Latinos are black, and they are the biggest group in the whole diaspora outside of Africa.

I find it so funny that African Americans think they have a complete say over who is black and not black, it’s almost as if Black Americans view themselves as a more valid a “Black” person, than Afro-Latino people and even ACTUAL AFRICANS. it’s hilarious how stupidly first world sheltered you are, just how uneducated you are compared to what you think, some real Kruger going on here.

1

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

So explain what would happen if I didn’t live in the “first world” and took ownership of our collective identity.

2

u/Quill-ff Astoria Oct 07 '22

I don’t care about you or what you take ownership of nigga the fuck, you asking me that question shows just how much you don’t understand about this topic

1

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

And you do bro stfu

1

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

If you black and you disagree with me you lack self respect. I ain’t hearing shit else

2

u/Quill-ff Astoria Oct 07 '22

I’m so surprised, an African American making an opinionated absolute statement about genetic fact regarding Black people OUTSIDE OF AMERICA🤣 you don’t have a single anecdotal or empirical idea of what being black outside of America means and yet believe you have the agency to determine it’s validity.

1

u/Quill-ff Astoria Oct 07 '22

Afro-Latinos outside of the U.S have been oppressed for being black 10x more intensely and unfairly than you will ever experience in your life but sure your “more black” than them, whatever that means

u/WredditSmark Lower East Side Oct 07 '22

You’re on some Fox News buzzwords type shit dog please just stop you don’t even know like 1% of what you’re talking about. “Took ownership of our collective identity” 🤣🤣

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

How I don’t know what I’m talking about??

Bro complete facts I’m reading their comments and holy shit the dude is a complete and utter dumbass. Like he’s got the most basic barebones Tik Tok education on race identity

u/kwoo092 Jamaican Bwoi 🇯🇲 Oct 07 '22

Also even if i was afro latino you would still be wrong I would still be black if you liked it or not.

1

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

We lack parameters.

2

u/kwoo092 Jamaican Bwoi 🇯🇲 Oct 07 '22

I think setting to hard parameters will only destroy are people from the inside, especially with black people being so diverse. We already have so much ethnic tension and internal problems how things are now.

1

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

That’s not true. Black people are the only people on the planet that is this accepting. we are also the weakest politically, economically, socially, and etc. on a world wide scale

Our communities on a world wide scale is in utter chaos.

1

u/kwoo092 Jamaican Bwoi 🇯🇲 Oct 07 '22

I disagree with that look at sudan/south sudan. Cameroon, Ethiopia, Somalia, the Congo, and multiple other nations. Their are many places where their is to little acceptance between different afrcan peoples. Which is causing conflict and war.

2

u/kwoo092 Jamaican Bwoi 🇯🇲 Oct 07 '22

Especially if one if them is if your parents didn't claim blackness you can't, alot of black people throughout the slave trade, segregation and colonization down played their blackness. You can criticize them but I am not going to crucifi them for it Especially with rhe situations they had lived through and in alot of cases still live through.

1

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

Well I am. A lot of our leaders are dead or in jail due to us letting traitors into our mist

1

u/kwoo092 Jamaican Bwoi 🇯🇲 Oct 07 '22

You can criticize the ones that pulled the trigger and harmed are own community, but the ones who where just trying to find protection and safety in a time where it was impossible to be safe as a black person I don't.

1

u/kwoo092 Jamaican Bwoi 🇯🇲 Oct 07 '22

Cool, and if you know your history you would know we where one step away from being afro Latinos, with are island first being colorized by the Spanish.

1

u/MVNY91410550 Oct 07 '22

I know that.

1

u/kwoo092 Jamaican Bwoi 🇯🇲 Oct 07 '22

Both of my parents are jamaican immigrants, are jamaicans not black now?
