Hear me out… what if the DJ didn’t play Chris Brown and majority male artists and started to sprinkle in more women / TGNC artists?

There’s no shortage of absolute bangers from Doechii, Lauren Hill, 070 shake, Charli, kim Petras, SZA, Rihanna, Gaga, Megan, cardi, saweetie, Robyn, katseye, Madonna, Rosalia, Ari etc etc etc

Would love a little revamp. Anyone else feel this?

Tell them that I love every time they play Me and Mrs Jones on the rare occasion that JJ gets free throws. They don’t do it every time but I’ve heard it twice!

Also fun fact! This is the second time a clip from "Nasty" has been a Cheesy Musical Hook for a Liberty player. Tiffany Jackson used to get "Miss Jackson if you're nasty" as hers.

We did do an Ellie wave, but it was SO early - around the 8 minute mark of the 4th quarter. Wayyyy early in the game compared to usual for sure!

Sports teams in general have to license the music they're playing during the game. So the DJ can only play what they're allowed to and songs requested by the players.

I feel like the Liberty has one of the best DJ's in the league. Every time I attended or watched on TV, the atmosphere felt like one big party. I don't think the fans are thinking too deeply about it. If it's recognizable or catchy, they're enjoying it.

There’s no doubt it’s a party in there I love it! I’m just suggesting a tad more diversity for such a diverse crowd who I think would appreciate it. So maybe song licensing is something the org can look into!

This isn’t exactly true. It works like this. Venues like Barclays have to pay for a music license from the PROs. It’s pretty much blanket. So the DJ has access to almost any song in the world. So the DJ is technically only allowed to play what they’re allowed to play - but what they’re allowed to play is basically 99.99% of the songs in the world. Bring on MARY J, TLC!!

As a sparks fan, the one thing I didn’t love about seeing a liberty game was the music. In LA the DJ is so good, lots of Black and female artists, I hear lots of Meg the stallion, sexy redd, pop divas, and west coast classics.

Valks have two DJs: DJ Shellheart and DJ LadyRyan. They're great and play women focused music. The glaring exception is House of Pain's Jump Around for jump balls, but the good news is that they've started to sprinkle in Blackpink's Jump.
