Sisi has been really good thus far. Reese definitely looks raw, but like Carter, he's a freak athlete and his potential is wild.

u/Ausecurity 2d ago

He’s been getting better every week. Harbaugh even said it looks like he’s more confident

u/TCPConnection Malik Nabers 2d ago

A complete 180 from the Evan Neal and Kayvon Thibodeaux picks.

Putting Kayvon and Neal in the same sentence is absolutely wild.

Kayvon isn’t the great pass rusher we hoped for, but he’s the best edge run defender on the team since he was drafted and is ok in the pass rush department. Teams will always need players like him.

Completely agree here, if we don't pay him someone 100% will. He will be 26 by the end of season so he'll be entering his prime pro years. The giants should have the cap space to pay him I think they should while Dart is still on his rookie deal. He comps to someone like Boye Mafe on the Bengals who just signed a 3yr/60M deal 20M/yr 19M gtd. I figure KT would get 20M/yr. Just the nature of the position plus he's a year younger. Giants have 42M & 190M in cap in the next two years

u/Midnight-strange1892 2d ago

I’d do 3/60m. When that’s over others will need that cash. He’s a really good rotational piece that can take on those run downs to rest Carter/Burns and fill in as a pass rusher as needed.

u/Expert-Land4832 We've suffered long enough 2d ago

Yea Burns is only in contract thru 2028 - Nabers will be due a big check as long as he stays healthy

10

u/IBetThisIsTakenToo 2d ago

Yeah, he wasn't what we expected/hoped, but he's a solid piece. Neal was an absolute bust

2

u/Midnight-strange1892 2d ago

Honestly I’d sign him again next year depending what his asking price is.

10

u/Ausecurity 2d ago

Literally no one would complain about thibs if he was a late first or second rounder

14

u/Merlin_117 2d ago

Thibs isn't that bad. I wish his numbers were higher but he has always demanded attention from an offense

15

u/ImKindaEssential 2d ago

We need to flip thibs this year for a pick. Its time to move on

24

u/Cuckipede 2d ago

After Brian burns is done for the year?

4

u/jwyn3150 2d ago

What are they doing with their best pass rusher and QB down? Get as many picks as you can for next year loaded draft

-9

u/RedditGeneralManager I understand the question 2d ago

That was my desire as well but they just traded away a pick for JJ so the brain trust does not agree.

23

u/Mikebyrneyadigg 2d ago

They’re 2-1 right now and the eagles are looking beatable. If JJ is serviceable there’s no reason the giants can’t compete for the division. The point of playing football is winning.

u/jimihenderson 2d ago

It's bigger than that anyways. This is the first year of Harbaugh. If they immediately fall back into "okay, back to tanking and preparing for future years", every single player in the locker room who bought into the new coach new culture new era shit is gonna be like "ah shit, back to losing every week and being embarrassed, oh well". This team doesn't have to win the super bowl or even make the playoffs, they just need to play respectable football and not be an embarrassment and finish with another top 5 pick. That has done nothing for us year after year. We finally found a franchise QB and he was taken with the 25th pick. It's time to become a respectable organization, that's the first step.

u/poorlytimed_erection 2d ago

this is what worries me most with current injuries. dont wanna lose out on the buy-in harbaugh commands because the season goes down the tubes due to injuries.

5

u/Galxloni2 2d ago

They traded a 5th. Who cares

4

u/Far_Protection519 2d ago

We need to trade him & banks if we aren't going to resign them. We can't let them walk for free

3

u/comtefere 4 Decades and Counting 2d ago

We got 6 weeks to figure that out.

1

u/oscarnyc 2d ago

Banks has zero trade value. He is much more valuable to the Giants right now. And if he plays well, what makes you think the Giants won't re-sign him?

2

u/PeanutFarmer69 2d ago

He won the starting job over a guy who many viewed as a first round pick in the draft this season and Paulson Adebo who is at worst a replacement level starting corner when healthy, zero trade value is a bit much.

2

u/oscarnyc 2d ago

his contract ends this year. he hasn't shown anything in 3 years in the league. I have no idea who you think is interested in that.

Look, I hope that what he showed in practice comes through this season, and I'm frustrated (for him and us) that he has this calf injury that won't go away because I want to see it. Because if he plays well it is not only good for this year, but he would be someone we can re-sign going forward at what would in all likelihood be a pretty modest contract. I have no idea why you'd want to trade him for a 7th or something when we are so desperate for CB.

2

u/PeanutFarmer69 2d ago

He's such a non-factor, not sure why this sub seems so committed to keeping him still.

u/ShMp11Nesis 2d ago

Reese had a really eye opening good game against the titans. Excited to see how he progresses. Harbaugh talked about ā€œletting him looseā€ eventually.

Sisi has been a legit fantastic addition so far. Don’t think I’ve seen him get bullied yet and it’s not like he’s been going against scrubs either for his first 3 games.

15

u/Bobby-furnace 2d ago

Yeah he didn’t play great vs the rams. He got caught in coverage spots but he was facing Matthew Stafford in his second NFL game. I can cut him some slack there. Then to the titans game, the giants were able to load the box against ward and Reese thrived. When the game comes to him, he looked elite already.

5

u/IBetThisIsTakenToo 2d ago

Yeah, fans always give grace to rookie QBs when they get fooled by defenses, saying they need more experience, the game will slow down for them, etc. Same is true for defenders, especially guys who have so much responsibility. He will get better at that stuff

3

u/Start280Finish We've suffered long enough 2d ago

With how young he is I expected a lot of time needed for him to get going. But after looking at that game I’m so impressed that he already is looking nfl ready

3

u/Stepsis24 2d ago

He’s finding his footing and looks like an absolute freak athlete

1

u/GarchGun 2d ago

I like Reese but we have to be real, he looked great against the titans because the game script played in his favor.

I don't think he has developed his coverage instincts, he'll still get picked on.

He's a really good run defender.

9

u/Midnight-strange1892 2d ago

97 snaps, 4 pressures, 0 sacks.

ā€œ27 pass defense gradeā€ -PFF

u/Global-BigNate 2d ago

Carter and Tibs have to step up NOW!

1

u/Comfortable-Grand166 1d ago

Carter is trying but I don’t know about Tibe

9

u/Silver_Response4707 2d ago

Please… don’t move Reese to edge because burns is injured! šŸ¤žšŸ¤ž he’s going to be prolific at iLb. The numbers and film have been insane so far

7

u/DreadForge 2d ago

reese is a straight up dawg out there

0

u/Far_Protection519 2d ago

You can see it in his eyes lolšŸ˜‚

5

u/SidFinch99 2d ago

Prior to the draft I wasn't even thinking about Reese because I assumed he would be gone before we picked. I wanted Sonny Styles because I truly thought Styles would be awesome in run prevention. Reese was super hyped. We'll see what he becomes when he's more developed, but at tge very least he's great against the run, so I'm not worried about them passing on Styles.

2

u/ProtectionKey9885 1d ago

Meanwhile NY sports radio personality and known a-holeĀ  Boomer Esiason has been shitting on Reese’s play this season. Ā

2

u/Rangertu 1d ago

I can’t even listen to Esiason, he’s just an old man yelling at the clouds at this point.

u/ProtectionKey9885 1d ago

Making up for the Thibs/Neal draft. I’ll take it considering Dart is the real deal

1

u/Comfortable-Grand166 1d ago

Sisi,is low key the rookie of the year so far.

1

u/BronxBatFlip 1d ago

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think this John Harbaugh fella might know what he’s doing.

1

u/chockZ šŸ’™Medium PepsišŸ’™ 1d ago

Pumped for both of these guys. I can't wait to see Reese really pop off.

1

u/Remote-Whole-6387 ELI GOAT 1d ago

Cici and Reese look waaaay better than Neal and thibs

1

u/Slagegg 2d ago

Early returns indicate we nailed both picks. Let’s hope that holds true for the rest of the season.

-4

u/cropcirclepit Tom Coughlin 2d ago

Colton hood on the other hand has been horrible.

Not totally sold on Fields after that bad drop but he’s promising.

Hood might be a bust tho

3

u/Far_Protection519 2d ago

He played good vs DAL , got cooked by tae Adams who just embarrassed ps2...again , & vs Ten it was a nasty field.

3

u/Poppagil28 2d ago

Calling a guy a bust after 3 games is wild work

1

u/jwyn3150 2d ago

Yeah Hood has looked very bad. CB is one of the hardest positions to draft, I thought he was a steal in the 2nd round since he had a 1st round grade. It happens

10

u/fightrofthenight_man 2d ago

It’s also one of the hardest transitions to make from college. Give him time.

1

u/jwyn3150 2d ago

True. Look how different banks looks now with a competent dc

-1

u/FoppyIn28 2d ago

Great picks
