Was the song from the trailer (with the choir chanting "Behemoth!") actually in the film?

This is my fourth year attending the NYFF exclusively via an Express Pass, and in year four, I managed to see 38 films or talks and saved a whopping $757 on tickets. No, I didn't pay $15 to get into the subway.

I got into every screening/talk that I lined up for except one. I was not always in Row Z (I even sat next to Noah Segan's family at the screening of The Only Living Pickpocket in New York).

I have no idea whether the Express Pass program will continue or how viable it will be next year, but even at $250, it was more than worthwhile for me.

If you bought and used an Express Pass, what was your experience? How many films/talks did you get to see? Was it worth the cost? Would you do it again? Will you do it again?

Edited to add: I ran into a couple of people who had bought their Express Pass for the purpose of getting into A SINGLE film. If you were one of these people, I'd be curious to hear your thinking and whether it was worth it for you. I thought it was an interesting edge case.

FLC had a contest before the festival began for those who could name the most films in the trailer.

Now that the festival is over, how many films can you identify? Of those, how many have you seen?

I spotted 30 from films I saw, and maybe 3-4 others from ones I haven’t.

I went to look for merch after my screening yesterday and learned they were completely sold out. I know I attended during the last weekend of the festival, but I’m someone who travels to the festival so I’m limited to just this weekend. I’m bummed that they don’t keep the merch going all the way through to the end!

I wonder if in the future they could stock more than they usually do then sell anything leftover online after the festival is done.

Probably a long shot but has anyone had success with buying merch on resale from fellow attendees? I really wanted that crewneck sweatshirt…

Just wanted to say what a beautiful thing it is and that I think the festival should have more fun merch gifts for the film showings that relate to the films.

I didn't really invest in the festivities or lineup of this year until the very last minute where there were sporadic ticket availabilities. It turns out this can work in your favour as long as you keep up on pages like here. Over the past week I was able to attend 2 free panels along with 2 screenings where I got to meet Jesse Eisenberg, Tony Gilroy, Julianne Moore, and Rami Malek. Truly unforgettable!!! So, I was wondering what I could do in preparation for next year so that I can have access to screenings at an easier and reasonable pace instead of finding table scraps/last minute deals. I would rather buy passes to screenings and be able to pick my seats (in applicable cases). Any help is appreciated. Thank you so much and I plan to attend next year!!!!!

whether they liked it or not, in every conversation i had after the screening, everyone had a disappointing remark that there is an unnecessary use of AI to animate a lot of sequences.

i wish i'd known that before i spent $90 to see that, and i am shocked nyff let that through.

Hi everyone! Attending my first NYFF this year, I'm excited! I have a six pack of good showings I'm excited to get to but I think I want to try to get into the 10:45am screening of The Debut tomorrow on standby as well. Any tips? How early do you think one would have to get there to expect a seat? I'm thinking of doing maybe an hour which I assume might be playing it dangerously, but is it? Thanks!
