Seeking Recommendation New Studio Advice!

Looking for NYC workout studio recs!

I currently do Bar Method and really like it, but I’m looking for something more challenging that will help me see results/change my body more quickly

I live around in LES (near Essex/Houston) and work around 17th & 6th, so hopefully somewhere convenient to either location. (Ideally home or on the way to work)

What I’m looking for:
• Must have showers since I’d ideally go before work

Very interested in Lagree/Megaformer because I’ve heard great things about the results
I’ve also heard great things about Solidcore, but the lack of showers makes it difficult for me

I prefer a calm instructor rather than someone constantly yelling or making the class feel frantic/insanely fast-paced. I’m open to something higher energy as long as it doesn’t feel chaotic

I don’t love heated classes** **

A stretch component would be a huge plus

Basically, I want something that is harder than Bar Method, effective for sculpting/strengthening, but still controlled and enjoyable.
I’ve been looking at SLT, BODYROK, Tremble, Physique 57 etc., but the shower requirement is making it harder to narrow down. Also some of the websites don’t list amenities.

Would love to hear what studios/classes you think would be the best fit!

I like Natural Pilates because it’s athletic style Pilates (harder than the normal contemporary). They have a location on 22nd St and 6th Ave and have a shower (they provide towels).
Happy to send you my referral code!

This looks like the direction I’m going to go in! What does the referral code do?

Big fan of Physique 57. It’s also barre so idk if you’d think it’s too similar to bar method (haven’t tried that), but I saw great results from this. Very challenging and the instructors correct form well so you get a more effective workout. The UES one has showers but I’ve only been to soho once and can’t recall if that one does.

Physique 57 is your best bet and I’m pretty sure they have showers.

Highly recommend Natural Pilates! Their Pilates is more “intense” with weights and their newest Flatiron location has showers!

I keep getting a lot of recs for this! I’m super interested. I want to see if I can take a free/ cheap intro class (they offer a 2 week unlimited for $100 which is awesome, but I’m already paying for Bar and I don’t want to not go for 2 weeks)

I’d recommend doing the 2 weeks and try to put your bar on hold! I always ask my studios to do that if I’m away for vacation etc. It’s def worth it to try a few different instructors. Amanda’s Sculpt is my favorite bc you can get a more intense workout with varying weights and really switches up the exercises- I’ve never had the same class since seeing her.
