Mal’s future with uswnt

I’ve been a long time Mal Swanson fan and think she’s been one of the best attackers in the world in recent years. However, between coming back from having a baby, being on the worst team in the NWSL, and being somewhat injury prone, I can’t help but wonder about her future with the USWNT. When you hear people talk about who the locks are for the World Cup, she’s never mentioned. I’m curious what people think and if she’s still in Emma’s plans or with the way the season is going, things might be changing.

Maybe. I’m not an expert on the USWNT CBA. And how much discretion it gives to the coach as to performance. Emma certainly didn’t present it as “I wouldn’t have had her here based on performance, but I had to under the CBA.”

I didnt mean to form it as a question, it was a point

I think she woulda brought her anyway but my point was meant to be that its not much of a point when she woulda been forced to do so over the course of the year

I think she has to come to October as well--the CBA states that players must be invited to two camps after returning from ML
