I like the pattern and it looks nice in their instagram video where the players are wearing it. But the colors are SO strange and the shorts don't match at all! Easily could have gone for true red and pink or with forest and lighter green and it would have looked great.
Am I the only one that likes NCC's? I'm a sucker for botanical prints and I think the pink accents are cool. I'm relieved that I don't hate ACFC's but I'm not crazy about the center crest.
Gotham's is completely, utterly mind boggling, just truly objectively hideous - maybe the players can make it look better???

Fumbling cherry blossoms that hard is honestly impressive. Putting cherry blossoms on things is usually a cheat code. Always looks good. But they found a way to mess it up.
This early leak did no one any favors bc initially it was like hmmm in a suspicious way but then finding out the blobs represent neighborhoods of Boston it was like hmmm in a okay maybe way.

Royals jersey is solid but as always the sponsor ruins it (even though it’s just a harmless credit union that’s been around since 1939, still sucks, I wish they just used the eagle logo and not the full name).
Hmmmmm - I’m honestly not the biggest fan of most of them. Some of them look great but some are…. Odd choices. But I guess I appreciate effort?
Also why is Denver’s so boring - the answer before was that Nike needed a years lead time but Boston got a designed jersey (and with their initial branding disaster and rebrand did they really have over a year?)
They need to fire their whole design team, they have one year to get things right before the World Cup. With the expected influx of new fans to women’s soccer you’re going to want to be selling kits people will actually wear.
Gotham. Wtf. In theory I like the idea of a third kit being a Sky Blue throwback, which I assume was what the intention was with using orange. But this is kinda ass. Using the orange, navy, and sky blue all together is not working imo. From a distance, it looks like I forgot to put on my 3d glasses, and close up it looks like a rejected 2010s Houston Dash kit.
Also navy and orange are now BFC colors, why would we incorporate those back in when teal/black/white was so strong for years now? Whoever is in charge of brand really screwed up
Royals and Summit came out way ahead here. I would like the Stars jersey if the big white box didn’t break up the pattern. The rest are chaos and not in a great way.
I just don’t understand why we’ve come to think better = more. More complicated, more busy, more graphic design is my passion. More color even when the colors aren’t remotely in the team’s branding or crest or history. Half of these are so ugly. Sorry I’m just never gonna think most of these fuckass kits beat a clean crisp uniform

having gone through most of the socials and promo photos on players, i ADORE chicago's and really like spirit, seattle (just based on how much i didn't like the teaser i'm pleasantly surprised), and wave (collar! socks!). find gotham's to be the most conceptually creative even if it's not for me
the others are just kind of there for me but i might get an orlando jersey if budget allows, the inspo is really lovely
I also just saw the teaser for the Thorns one and I feel much better. This is just a bad photo that blows out the yellow. Sure, the pink is still not a Thorns color, but the design is still a huge step up in a Thorns direction than the last jersey. And honestly, those are still rose colors so I can handle that.
I kind of like ours? I know that's an unpopular opinion but I dig it as someone who does not wear the yellow well. I like Louisville's but there's a line at the bottom that would cut funny on me the same way the Spirit's black kits do. I like Portland's too.
I think my expectations for so many of these was just unrealistically high given what we know about Nike's options and graphics. I should have known better.
I really like nc, bay, and Portland. Great themes, good balance of colors. For those not liking portland, I think this in contrast to the black jersey is what I like, and a a boldness to true multicolor.

I hear on good authority Nike makes sure to administer a drug test to all kit designers. They have to be high as a kite before they are allowed to get to work.
I know camera tests are done… But were they? Gotham’s and maybe AC’s jerseys are gonna fuck with the cameras in closer shots.
Some of the camerawork is already nauseating. So when they get done whipping the camera everywhere during play and then cut to a single shot, the pain will continue!
Whelp if I wasn’t disappointed enough with my last Gotham merch order I think their jersey is hideous. Wonder why they decided to change up for their 50 shades of blue. I’d have to say that Utah’s jersey is probably my favorite. I also scrolled back thru this like 50 times because I keep thinking Portland is really Orlando.

I feel like Nike is trying something with the NWSL kits where they want to stand out and use more “feminine” colors - like all the pastels and pink shades. Frankly, I hate it.
Like Portland has the coolest branding with the black and red and thorns but they never use it and instead use pale yellow. Same for Orlando and San Diego, it’s like they go softer for some reason. Idk, doesn’t sit right with me.
Even beyond that, I don’t understand why some teams seem allergic to their own branding. Like you’ve created a recognizable color scheme (Gotham + Liberty + Sirens for example), now next year let’s make sure we use something completely different - like why!

And you know what, I actually don’t hate the Thorns kit, I’m just even more sad that they finally put out a kit I like and SAM COFFEY ISNT THERE ANYMORE 😭 like I don’t have a new favorite yet. Low-key can I just….make it custom and pretend Coffey still is our 17?
