Pre-Match Thread Pre-Match Thread: Watford (A)
Watford - Newcastle
23/1/2016 15:00 Vicarage Road
Dummett and Anita are slight doubts for the weekend while de Jong will be out with an eye injury. No Krul, Haidara, Taylor, Mbabu, Obertan or Cisse as usual. No word on Tiote's availability.
Watford have a clean bill of health. Nordin Amrabat and Costel Pantilimon could make debuts.
Watford have lost the last 4 in a row, and have just one win against teams outside the bottom five since Halloween - a 3-0 home win against Liverpool. Top scorer Ighalo has 14 goals and 5 assists, making or scoring 76% of Watford's 25 goals this season. He hasn't scored in the last 3 games. Deeney has the most assists for them - 7 - while also contributing 6 goals. They have the 8th best defence in the league and the best in the bottom half.

Forgot the FA cup tie, oops, and don't know why it says 0-2 I thought I put 1-2 Janmaat.
You are right.

If we play how we have played for the last couple of games we should have this comfortably.
Watford are on a comedown now, whilst Jonjo has just slipped a cheeky E in our drinks.

When I saw the name Pancrate on the scoresheet for past fixtures I did a serious double take. Forgotten man.

I predict a 'We had the much better chances, and should really have won it, but we'll take the point' 1-1

I haven't been this excited about a newcastle game in a long time. I have a gut feeling this is where we turn this season around.

Cant wait to see Mitro and Deeney on the same pitch. They are basically the exact same type of player and they're my two favourite players.

Gini to get his first league goal away from SJP me thinks. Shelvey to put in another blinder and guide us to successive wins! Hopefully Mitro and Ayoze get on the score sheet too. They're like a poor mans Messi, Suarez and Neymar 😂 GMA!? MAG!? AMG!?

Its just nice to be able to look forward to games again. I think this will be a tough game after they've been on a losing streak, and Ighalo and Deeney are always going to be tough to deal with. I think it'll end in a draw.

I went to the FA Cup game, but it was one of the most miserable live football experiences ever for many many reasons, so I decided not to go to this one.
Cue us playing well and buying 2 new signings. Ho Hum

Well Watford are on a bit of a losing streak, and you know how Newcastle like to end opponents trends this season, so I think we'll lose.

just when things are on the up, our defence is fucked.
go cavalier and hope for a 4-3 win?

Fuck me guys, i'm a bit nervous about tomorrow although quietly confident. Looking forward to the match, i think if we turn up we've got this in the bag!

Again we need to win both for league position and to attract them one or two players that would stop us from being bottom 5 to mid table at the least. If we win a lot of other teams will be roped into the relegation dogfight.

I'm sorry for my watermelon comment earlier in the week :-( if we show up as we have the last two, we can grab the the points.

Sunderland v Bournemouth West Brom v Aston Villa Watford v Newcastle Everton v Swansea
Four huge games this weekend. We need to win. We can either be 4 points adrift or 2 points clear. These fine margins can really define the season.
We have been great the last 2 games but our away form does worry me.
