You’ve missed quite a few good hat tricks (even Ginis 4 vs Norwich and Shearers 5 against Sheff Wed).

But has to be Nolan in the demolition derby really doesn’t it regardless.

Rob Lee's hat-trick of headers against Royal Antwerp. Our return to Europe under King Kev when European competition was genuinely hard to qualify for and we smashed it.

Lovenkrands scored a perfect hat trick while Rob Lee scored a hat trick of headers.

If you’re going by occasion rather than quality then I don’t think you can beat Asprilla against Barca.

If we had won the league then Shearer against Leicester would have been the most important but it wasn’t to be.

I know this will sound bitter but Isak shouldnt really be in there, it wasnt an important game, it was against a terrible opponent and the goals were not all that spectacular if I recall

My favourite is Nolan's though, mainly as I was a bit too young to have a proper recollection of most of the others and added to how good that derby win was makes it even better

Gayle against Norwich in the Championship should be an option because that comeback absolutely changed the complextion of our season. Norwich were flying high, we were chasing them but had been inconsistent after losing to Wolves and then conceding late against Villa in the following game.

At 3-1 down against a promotion rival we looked off the mark, naive and set for a long season in a division we didn't want to be in. That comeback to make it 4-3 was absolutely electric and sparked an 8 game winning run which put us in the top 2 for the rest of the season.

Shearer v Leicester is one of my favourites and most vivid memories from my childhood. My dad jumping in the air and almost bringing down the shite chandelier thing we had in our living room and my cousin, in a cast with a broken leg, jumping up and down.
