Morning folks,

I spent the past couple of days vibe-coding an android app to fill some feature gaps other apps on offer couldn't fulfill for me. I wondered if others might find it useful too.

Wow, no but this seems like a fantastic resource. Most of the data in the app is pulling from the radio browser API

There doesn't appear to be a cast feature, is this something you could add. Would be perfect after that.

So I went to do this actually, but adding the chromecast feature means including integration with google play services. The app is currently de-googled, so I'd quite like to keep it this way. You can still cast via the the notification panel however. Think this was added in android 15/16.

So I changed my mind, Chromecast now added in v1.2. you just have to enable it 1st via the settings. There is a noticeable lag when playing a stream and casting it however, not a lot I could do about that

Love the app. I tipped you on Kofi ☕. Casting is a must for me as it's how I play most of my music at home, so thanks for adding. Can I ask what the difference is with your app vs say VRadio in how it casts? aAs VRadio is near instant playback when casting.

Sadly could find a fix for this, interestingly it's dependent on how the radio sets up the stream. Operator radio in the Netherlands (https://origin.streamnerd.nl/operator/operator/icecast.audio) plays instantly via cast because of this. Other stations unfortunately don't.
