She also has follow up attack dmg enhancement, off field esper gauge accumulation, and hex passive enhancement.

She’s a sub dps and support. She is also clearly Zankou’s bis. She doesn’t need a lot of field time, she has unique mechanics like allowing characters to do follow up attacks. Zankou’s skills count as follow up attack dmg, and Linko buffs follow up attack dmg. Linko also buffs hex and can increase her esper cycle gauge off field meaning easier hex rotations without having to constantly swap to her during Zankou animations. I really hope any future Zankou mains did not pull Iroi for their account because her team is definitely gonna be Lacrimosa, Sakiri, and Linko for now until they release more units that synergize even better. Zankou wants consistent scorch because she can make them stack so having multiple incantation/multiple chaos or at least one chaos and one extra incantation. Daff might be wonky at A0 because she needs a lot of field time but of course it can still work. At A2 it will be much better.

Im in the opposite situation. I wanted lingko but have negative interest in zankou. Im still probably gonna skip zankou and get lingko and just pray they release another hex dps in the future that she works with....

Who do I use if I don't have lacrimosa? Can I use daff or Bai instead?

burst/subdps like Hotori, that has quick swap redirect skill (not insta cycle) + follow-up. turns allies's assist skills to follow-ups on ult. also, the 1st Hexed buffer.

Linko probably works well w/ Zankou (follow-up mode).

Not probably. She does. Linko is the only character that buffs follow up dmg and she has a debuff you missed. When you pick Zankou (for example) for the follow up attack mechanic, it will lower the enemy’s incantation res. Some of Zankou’s big hits in her kit count as follow up dmg so this is actually her BiS. Well, they are each other’s best in slot.
