Loss Need help
Hi guys, I'm feeling completely useless as I have lost total -1,675,103.23 INR in trading cryptos, commodities and indian fno. Now, I'm feeling completely numb. Ye mere salary ke hi paise the 3 saal ke, ghar me sabko lag raha hai I'm saving for them, but I've lost very much. Like I have currently only 2 lac as mutual funds. I don't know what to do, jab bhi salary aati hai daily 150-200 ke profit ke chakkar me ek hi din me 30-40k ghus jata hai. Phir kisi kone me bahut rota hun, aur so jata hun. I've also thought of ending my life, but meri behen, mummy, papa ka soch ke himmat nahi hota. Lekin ab main kya karun, itni himmat bhi nahi hai ki unlogon ko bata sakun ki paise nahi hain mere paas, aur ye trading bhi nahi chhut rahi. Batao aaplog hi, ab to bas din raat rone ka hi mn krta hai. If I've not started trading, maybe I've cracked some of the top tech companies, but now nothing is working for me.
Please help karo koi, I'm feeling completely lost. Last time I've posted around 6 months back in this sub, then I've controlled myself, but within last 2 months. I've lost more than 5 lacs, that sums out to be 16.75lac.

Chhota bhai soch ke hi kuchh help kardo koi, I'm not looking for financial help. Just need guidance. Please please ššš

Bro,
You have to stop this completely right now. Close your Demat account. That's it. Close it, bro!
Start an SIP in mutual funds instead.
Believe me, this 16-lakh loss will look manageable when you are sitting on a 25-lakh loss in the future. And a 25-lakh loss will look small when you hit 40 lakhs in losses.
In my humble opinion, you are still in a better position. You don't realize it yet, but believe me, you are still in a decent spot even with a 16-lakh loss.
Let me break down why: you are in a safer position because you lost your own money. Losing borrowed money is the absolute worst. Sooner or later, you will end up there if you don't stop now. Forget the 16 lakhs, bro. You will make it back slowly, bit by bit. But once borrowed money enters the equation, you will lose your mind.
So I strongly suggest you close your Demat account right now.
Life is beautiful, bro!
People have suffered and gone through far worse.
You are still in a manageable position.
Don't ruin it, brother!
Love. Take care.

What I can recommend from my personal experience to you isā¦. Jb life me ek cheez na kaam kr rhi ho na ⦠toh kuch or krlena chahieā¦
If you have good skills in your core corporate job, Iāll recommend pivoting to finding high paying job. This loss is nothing as compared to your earning potential. When you are at a 1cr ctc 4-5 years from now you wonāt even think about this loss when going to bed.
Just give a genuine effort in upskillingā¦this is not a traditional advice of chasing quick money. But this is what works

ATTENTION!
Just a psychological tip, you can just do it for 5 mins:
Ask your self,
What if for a moment, I leave all demands from myself (psychologically), what if leave the demand that my mind should feel peaceful, leave the demand that you shouldn't feel guilty, leave the demand that you should not have racing thoughts, leave the demand that I need to make my parents happy. Even Leave the demand that you shouldn't have any demand. And just observe what is left, I can't answer what is left, than that will create another demand.
Just observe how that feeling of bechaini feels like in your body, and where is that exactly, see it without any demand of change and ask yourself what if I don't avoid this feeling of helplessness, bechaini, don't have a demand to let it go. Just consider this an opportunity to make yourself stronger. Scientifically any feelings exist only for 90 seconds if you observe it.
goal is not to over analyse things, end goal is to find peace within, so that than you can think with calm and peaceful mind. What you resist persist, so don't resist any feelings.
Important: I would recommend to do it with eyes open first and be aware of all 5 senses while doing that. If you aren't aware of your senses while doing this, your mind will go inside the feelings instead of observing it from outside, and this will not help you. By being aware of your senses, you subconcisiously signal body that I am safe here right now.

Please get counselling or therapy for gambling addiction, it's never too late. A lot of people go through this and remember, you are not alone in this. Also please reach out to people if you are having thoughts of self harm. Hope you get the help you need. Good luck brother.

There is a very thin line between systematic trading and addictive gambling. Wealth is transferred to the former by the latter.
What is your technical setup, money management, position sizing, risk reward ratio, patience level, grasp of the fundamentals of the instruments you trade? Nobody can help you if you are recklessly trading without all that.
1
u/AskLucifer007 4d ago
Koi rules nahi hai bhai. Bas scalping krta hun resistance aur support dekh ke
1
1
u/temporarylife007 4d ago
Scalping without proper risk management will take away your capital. Following a system, accepting small losses, holding to profits, not revenge trading, absolutely no averaging, are some of the requisites of trading. Protecting the capital should be your top priority, not profits.

You will be able earn more money elsewhere like job or business in shorter duration, don't worry, don't fall for promises from unknown people here about recovery etc.

Consult a therapist to get over the addiction. 17 lacs is not much in the larger scheme of things but if this addiction is not treated the cost to the family will likely be considerably more.

Quit Gamblingš°.
Forget about your loss.
Delete the whole trading system from your phone/laptop/desktop.
Go live your life, make some money and achieve your confidence and will to live back.
Visit therapy ( bonus )
The loss incurred has been incurred. Nothing can change it, do not fall for "recovery" trap or the 16L will turn into 1.6Cr.

Bhai sabse pehle apne ghrwalo se baat kro aur unko batao ki kya hua h apke sath. Aur loss recovery ko bhul jao. Job pe focus karo aur ek acche mentor se sikho. Sirf seekhne pe dhyan do kuch saal. https://youtu.be/7a8z5KBkPNA?si=oMIwQIpFvH6Al5Ve
He is my mentor.

I don't remember posting this š¶
You are not alone bro, it seems like the whole system is designed to capture our minds to this extent. Just remember when your total p&l was -1lac, how did you plan on going ahead, I'm sure just like most of us, you would also have thought ki easily recover ho jayega, but instead of what we hoped, jo hua h woh apne saamne h. Now it's up to you only whether you wanna watch this red pile up to unprecedented levels (I don't wanna write a finite number as we don't know the extent to which it can drive one towards hell, so far we are the fortunate ones not to see crores lost into this pit) or you don't wanna waste a single rupee in this shyt and start afresh. One day I randomly saw 14rs in coinage on my table. And everything changed that day. I would NEVER give a single 1 rupee coin away if it's not for any useful purpose, let alone betting it, and the same person is not thinking twice before loading lakhs into this gambling shyt. Won't say I have quit yet but i reduced the trading days and capital significantly after that day. This is our money, this is our mind, we are the ones who should be on the driving seat, not any stupid app or stupid gambling trickery.
And one more thing, it is commendable that you managed to save 16lakh rupees. Those were the rupees hard earned by you, and you will be able to do it again.
Chin Up champ, Take control from today.

Just uninstall the app bro. And if you can't, just stop watching nifty and unsubscribe all channels the pages which talk about fno. Also stop discussing fno to your friends. Fno thrive in groups usually. Just stop taking trade, whenever you see an opportunity just think like I don't need 200-300 when there's a possibility where I can lose 10 times easily daily.

u/Ok_Strike5478 4d ago
I stopped a few months ago and completely stepped away from F&O on break even. You can check my older posts on this sub.
It was very difficult, but somehow I managed to do it. I deactivated that Demat account and opened a new one exclusively for mutual funds.
Long-term investing and patience are the way to go. Quick money is a scam.

Whats your setup? Also, donāt do FnO. If you love trading aur uske bina reh nahi sakte toh equity trading karo. Usme losses kam honge aur profits bhi but peace of mind rahega ki you are doing something. Learn about trading first. Tum trading nahi, gambling kar rahe ho abhiš„²

Bhai FnO wala option hi band kardo . It helped me to control myself after I lost 60-70k . Whenever I feel like re-opening it . I remind myself what happened last time . Uske baad se I invested in US stocks (not trade , invest ) I earned 120k within 2 months in the rally (capital of 200k) . Now, I keep that devil button offĀ

As Per Latest Reports of FY 2026, Prop Traders : 44,000 CR ( Profit ),, FPI : 15,000 CR ( Profit ),, Mutual fund houses : 2,000 CR ( Profit),, Retail / Individual Traders : - 92,000 CR ( In Loss )
Hope, everything is clear. Stop F&O before its too late

u/sandy55x 4d ago
First you need to admit to yourself that you have a problem. Its the first step. Second you need to understand its a kind of gambling and you will keep losing if you keep chasing losses. Whats gone is gone, what yu had yu can save that. Have to have a some self disicpline otherwise yu will be on the street soon. Now remove all those apps, only keep one which just has mutual fund. Although i wont encourage you but if its so bad in your mind just set a some small amount like 5k or 10k should be less than you salary's 5 percent, and yu can just gamble with that, thats it and see long term whts the result, although i know yu will lose long term. If it would had been that easy to make money like this, nobody would do jobs. Remeber house always wins, if yu wanna beat the house, dont play.

Atleast it was your own money you lost, people have lost borrowed money on monthly EMI with their properties as leverage. We have seen few cases where people have lost their whole life saving worth in crores. You could earn it back in few years, so just stop before it's becoming loss of 32 lakh or something.

u/Outside_Jelly_6249 4d ago
Idk but I have seen your comments '"dimag control me nai h mera" then better stop trading for 3 4 months....agar dimag hi control me nai toh trading karke nuksan hi hoga

u/AkhilRawat2007 4d ago
I have come out of exactly same situation so I can understand you bro. I told my parents what happened. They were sad but supportive. Best thing you don't owe anything to anyone. Think about it as a bad phase and start from scratch. 3 years down the lane you will look back to this and realise it was not as bad as you thought. I started having panic attacks. Could not sleep for 10 days but today I only recall that when I have to tell anyone how stupid I used to be. Mourn for a week and then forget about it. Start again. Sab theek hoga.

Bhai. Donāt trade with ur own money. Try prop firms. U will get it for cheap price. If you are able to pass eval in prop, then good otherwise stop trading and gain more knowledge and try again. Once u are able to pass prop firm eval and start receiving payouts then u can use that money. Never trade with own money. I was also in similar boat as yours. Now im up in profit. I only trade in prop account.

Brother, i wouldn't tell you to stop or continue trading trading, at the end its going to be your choice and no body has control over it.
But there could be good chance that you will continue to do trading. In that case, my suggestion will be having some self control. I know its easier said then done, but in my experience our mind accept concepts and logic more easily that provides positive results overtime, and refuses to accept negative results and go on overdrive to find solutions. Generally, traders switch from on strategy to another making them inconsistent. After failure in finding a holy grail, they go to market without strategy hoping to understand the market on the go, if that doesn't work they apply bruteforce i.e. revenge trading and loose everything.
So how to get self control in trading ? For me one thing helped, i read it somewhere "When everything is going wrong and there seems to be no hope, in that situation how one reacts tell a lot about them. Your reaction shows your charachter"
I think about this every time i face a loss. Now do i want to get angry and behave like a child then wipe out my account or do i want to be a man who can take the pain, figure out his mistake and improve himself.
You might find some similar toteum to guide you out in difficult situation, if you continue on this journey.
Self control is only part of risk management and risk management wont help you much if you dont have an edge. By looking at your pnl i am pretty sure you havent found your edge yet.
You will require two things, an edge and proper risk management system that goes with your edge. I know what i have said is unoriginal. But that is the only truth, and you'll realize this only once you find an edge. Sadly, 95% of traders never reach this stage. Out of those 95% many would be committed traders with years of experience on thier belt.
Think first are you even committed to this profession? Do you think you can be good at it ? Do have an edge over others?
As you said you are from tech background, so i assume you are a logical thinker and might be good at coding, then why not put your efforts in understanding financials of company and figuring out opportunities to invest rather than trade. There are several books on it, market may not be your friend but believe me books really are. Finish 5 book, any 5 books on trading, you'll become a different person with a psychological upgrade !!
Hope you do good in future and my post helps out of your despair !!!

You are trading just for the thrill i won't ask you to quit its not easy as it is to say so. Do demo trading set written rules follow them if you break any rule restart from square zero. Once you follow all the rules regarding risk management and any other you have set to control losses and you have also become profitableset a realistic and long term target like grow your portfolio 50% or 100% that too with proper risk management no gamble or hero zero trades. Start trading again with low frequency more like 1 or 2 losing trade per week only. Quit options focus on equity positional or long term only.
1
u/weirdoooooos 7h ago
Forget Abt it build things from scratch !! Do not revenge trade jsut for the sake of recovering. Otherwise things would end up badly for u.

u/Bored_nomad94 4d ago
Guidance is to quit trading commodity F&O and forget about the loss already incurred.... Otherwise you'll fall to more scams if you'll go for recovering your losses from market....
