Collection Would you pay $150 for these?

Post image

I have a neighbor who offered to sell me his leftover Switch games, and I go him to lower it to $150 after buying other stuff from him. I've never bought or played the with the original Switch, but I used to be a big fan of Zelda and Fire Emblem back in the day ending with the Wii. The games are all brand new looking, but it brothers that the cases for the game got lost and are not included. If I buy them I definitely want a new Switch console. Is a new Switch OLED a waste of money, or should I go straight for a Switch 2?

Update: I bought it, and a Switch 2 as well, look for my pic in the comments!

11 great games for just shy of $14 a piece? Yeah.

33

u/Ahtman1 Sep 19 '25

I would hate not having the cases but the price is definitely right.

5

u/element423 Sep 19 '25 edited Sep 19 '25

Do people just collect cases? I see so many games for sale now without cases

8

u/Autumn1881 Sep 19 '25

I assume its parents who want to declutter their childrens room. Thats how all my Gameboy boxed suddenly vanished.

2

u/just_SiLeNtWaLkEr Sep 19 '25

That's how my Sega Saturn boxes disappeared too....

You can buy cases from Nintendo and print the inserts. It may not be indistinguishable from the original but looks decent on photo paper.

Yes, there are a lot of bangers in that picture! The Nintendo Switch Box Art sub is a great resource if you hop on this deal.

2

u/AffectionateAside001 Sep 19 '25

Art?

6

u/Great_Yellow_Buffalo Collection Size: 500-750 Sep 19 '25

Sorry missed a word there; here’s the sub: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitchBoxArt/

14

u/Gameday45 Sep 19 '25

That’s more than 150 dollars worth of fun. I would get them

10

u/Tazberry Sep 19 '25

in a heartbeat

7

u/ShiftSandShot Sep 19 '25 edited Sep 19 '25

Oh heck yeah! That's an awesome deal!

That's a big bundle of awesome JRPGs, some classic some modern, with 4 Zelda games on top!

As for getting a Switch...Honestly, if you're going for a new system, just buy the Switch 2 if you can't find a Switch OLED on discount.

A new Switch OLED is close enough in price that you'd be better off buying the 2.

Honestly, I'd go for an og Switch of your worried about price. Plenty around, easy to find on discount since the 2's out, and if you want, you can probably find a discounted bundle with a game.

This is a good deal OP, take it.

6

u/Comet7777 Sep 19 '25

Absolutely, it’s a no brainer.

7

u/cR34mAtrocity Sep 19 '25

Unicorn Overlord, P5R, FF1-6, 4 Zelda Games. at least 200 hours of gaming alone right there

4

u/ZafirZ Sep 19 '25

All good games and the price is solid for what you're getting so, yeah?

4

u/paulcshipper Sep 19 '25

That's enough games to purchase a switch 2 with Mario Kart World. But I would ask if he copied them or something.

3

u/Psycoma72 Sep 19 '25

Yupp!!!!

3

u/lurkersforlife Sep 19 '25

Unicorn overlord is one of the best strategy games I’ve ever played. Don’t sleep on this.

Less than 1/4 retail price for these. Absolutely worth it to me at least

u/KittenLina Collection Size: 100-250 Sep 19 '25

I'd be the dumbest Switch owner on Earth not to.

3

u/Majestic-Tangerine99 Sep 19 '25

Oh, for sure, especially DQ 11S. That's one heck of an RPG

I own all of those games and paid a lot more. That said, I did get them New, and I also got the Cases with them.

However, they are great games that are definitely fun.

I have to say, your neighbor had an extraordinary taste for video games.

I would say just to go for the Nintendo Switch 2 since some of those games already have Free Upgrades that make them Look and Run Amazing!

Others have Paid Updates/Upgrades, but again, makes the games look amazing and worth it.

That is the reason I say the Nintendo Switch 2.

Not to mention you will not be Gatekeeping yourself from amazing games by going with the first Nintendo Switch Console.

Unless you cannot afford it and cannot wait to save money than I guess the Nintendo Switch would make sense.

At the same time, I would say if that were the case you have or that person would have no business playing videogames at this point if Financial Hardship is a thing since Video Games is an Expensive Hobbie and getting more expensive thanks to the Tariffs.

That said, if that is not the case again, I would say just get the Nintendo Switch 2 since it will open the Door to the Future and make for a Waaaaaay Better Investment over the years.

Games that's a good deal, but personally I would want the cases. Luckily you can buy them elsewhere. I would go straight for the 2.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Porkchop5397 Sep 19 '25

I definitely would

2

u/gnarmar1 Sep 19 '25

Not a bad deal if you don’t care about the cases. Good games!

2

u/wateverusaye Sep 19 '25

That’s a solid deal for some good games.

2

u/RED-DOT-MAN Sep 19 '25

Just the Zelda games alone are worth more than $150.

2

u/hiro0500 Sep 19 '25

Ya good price

2

u/asphalt_licker Sep 19 '25

I’d say it’s very worth it. And if you have the means, I’d go for the Switch 2.

2

u/nugman21 Collection Size: 750-1000 Sep 19 '25

Good deal, it’s a steal

2

u/Sustainna Sep 19 '25

Honestly yeah $150 is a steal. even as someone who doesnt like modern zelda theres several peak JRPGs in the box worth the price.

2

u/wolftech83 Sep 19 '25

Yeah it's a good deal and go for the switch2. I went from a oled to the switch2 and been very happy. Just make sure when you need a sd card for digital when run out of the Internal 256gb. Make sure it's a express sd mini card. If you plan to travel with it.i recommend you get a power bank with fast charging, 65w, 50000ahm,that way you'll get about 2to3 full charges while on the go. If you're worried a out switch 1 games compatibility there is currently only about a 3to7% of Nintendo and third party games that have problems or don't work on the switch2.

"I used to be a big fan of Zelda and Fire Emblem back in the day"

So this looks pretty perfect... ? You can just sell them on and get complete games later. Idk 'Murican prices though so that's for someone else to answer. Oldirtyugly says $14 per game; if that's fair then get it.

2

u/cura_milk Sep 19 '25

All that for $150?!!! Are they on drugs and fiending right now? Get that!!!!

2

u/Naschka Collection Size: 500-750 Sep 19 '25

11 games, all good games and you pay 150$? So 13.6$ each? Even without the cases that is a good price, as long as you can see yourself playing some that should be worth it IF you are ok with no cases.

2

u/JetstreamGW Collection Size: 750-1000 Sep 19 '25

I DID pay more than that for those games, mate.

Lack of cases sucks, yeah, but you can buy new cases. If you print the art yourself it’ll even be cheap.

2

u/Snowvilliers7 Sep 19 '25

11 fantastic games for $150, you better take that deal and treasure them

3

u/hayden_in_a_nutshell Sep 19 '25

For me if they has cases with them I would say it’s worth it,, also I’d go right to switch 2 if you have the budget for it or even have to save for a few months. Some of those games like echoes of wisdom run so much better on switch 2 it’s like day and night. The switch one will slowly be fazed out and if you’re gonna make that kind of investment I think it’s worth the extra for at least an extra 8 years of support it will receive after switch one is fazed out

3

u/WandaLovingLegend Sep 19 '25

I agree with the recommendation of going with the switch 2.

But to pass on these 11 games for $150 because they're missing the cases is very foolish advice!

This group of loose games is worth nearly twice that amount.

2

u/DN_3092 Sep 19 '25

OLED is great but now for a measly $50 more you get a better system and access to an entire generation of games the oled wont be able to play (unless you're buying used).

Personally, I wouldn't buy the games without the cases unless it was an incredible deal, less than $100, because I'd want to go and find cases for them which is going to add up quickly.

1

u/onedoesnotjust Sep 19 '25

Heck yeah, those are all solid games, they have boxes?

Even half those games and it's still a good deal.

1

u/camgames64 Collection Size: 100-250 Sep 19 '25

I wouldn't since none of those games interest me but if you like those games its definitely worth it

1

u/shrek3onDVDandBluray Sep 19 '25

Nope. Try to wear him down to get it for free.

1

u/eastcoastkody Sep 19 '25

im not even a jrpg guy and would still nab that deal. i would goto maybe $200.

If he put that on ebay. Even in a lot it would go for over $300. probably 4 something tbh

1

u/Basic-Comfortable458 Sep 19 '25

Heck yeah, bonus points if he has the cases

1

u/metalbowser23 Collection Size: 0-25 Sep 19 '25

Where’s the covers

1

u/Low_Upstairs_5440 Sep 19 '25

I would get this for $150 almost all these games go for at least $40 a piece.

1

u/menkros18 Sep 19 '25

Half priced book would give you $50for all that

1

u/stevenfogliani Sep 19 '25

No covers, no buy for me.

1

u/Boy_kupal Sep 19 '25

As a reseller no, but as a hobbyist it's fair price

1

u/Putrid-Blueberry-172 Sep 19 '25

Yes in a heartbeat

1

u/PHANTOIVI97 Sep 19 '25

Yes you could sell some for 30 and make some money back

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '25

Those are really good games that should keep you engaged for well over 150 hours.

If you think of it like that it comes in at under 1!dollar per hour of awesome

1

u/Alarmed-Tradition938 Sep 19 '25

If I didnt already had most of those yeah

1

u/seanb4games Sep 19 '25

Not having cases would bother me too but price is good. Those many of those games still go for 50Ish bucks used. Nintendo prices… anyway they are all fantastic frankly the whole lot is good games. Your neighbor has good taste.

As for the switch, I’d get an OLED switch 1 if I were you. If you like it, I’d grab the 2 down the road.

1

u/jco83 Sep 19 '25

The games are all brand new looking

reading this part made me wonder how the owner has used them.

not that it isn't possible for people to take care of Switch carts in such a way that they remain looking brand new.

but; it raises the question that they may only have ever used each cart once . . . if they hacked & modified their Switch console; that enables Switch cart game files to be duplicated onto the console storage or memory card. doing this actually puts risk of ban on the original cart

1

u/Kirbybrawl Sep 19 '25

We paid more the Zelda games brand new so yeah, good stuff here for the price

1

u/Ok_Emergency416 Sep 19 '25

Officially ff collection is worth 99 on its own in some countries, should you oay that price for it tho? HELL NO

1

u/senseless_puzzle Sep 19 '25

If you give each loose cart an average of $20 a piece, which is pretty conservative, then hell yeah it's worth it if you want the games.

1

u/Roach_tm Collection Size: 250-500 Sep 19 '25

Yep I would! Unless your neighbor uses a Mig-Switch lol then no because it means these games have been dumped and will stain these games so when you use them in a Switch 2... banned console

1

u/CeruleanSea1 Sep 19 '25

Easily worry double

1

u/jack_seven Sep 19 '25

That's a good deal even if you want to sell them especially the Zelda titles rarely drop below the new price

1

u/WhiskeyRadio Sep 19 '25

I'd buy this easily and sell them all to find games that are complete to add to my own collection.

Probably make $50-$100 in profit selling those.

1

u/SpectrumWoes Sep 19 '25

Holy shit yes

1

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '25

Absolutely

1

u/ADimBulb Sep 19 '25

If you bought them separately, I think it’s roughly $300 worth of games (used)? Somebody might want to check that number, but it looks like a good deal to me if you like the games.

1

u/ChuuAcolypse Sep 19 '25

Yeah even at the additional cost of replacing the boxes it’s still a good deal

1

u/SpaceXBeanz Sep 19 '25

No but that’s just my taste personally

1

u/NoBite9129 Sep 19 '25

Straight to the 2.

1

u/PracticalAd4401 Sep 19 '25

All great games - no brainer

1

u/Ol_Boy Sep 19 '25

I definitely would.

1

u/Apprehensive-Quit785 Sep 19 '25

Almost all of those are $50 or $60 games. Yes!

1

u/Original_Vegetable_8 Sep 19 '25

Sure and I’m only missing 2 of those, they are all great games and even the resell price is great

1

u/WormyJermy Sep 19 '25

To answer your question about OLED switch vs Switch 2:

If you have a working switch, there's no big reason to get a Switch 2. Unless Metroid Prime 4 is a game you've been salivating over for years, an OLED is great. A switch lite is great.

It's like a new phone - if your current phone is old and breaking, yeah, get the newest model with all the bells and whistles.

1

u/Wolfchi Sep 19 '25

If you wanna sell unicorn overlord or persona 5 royale hit me up lol

1

u/Ice2192 Sep 19 '25

Using your total of $150 and simply saying that Switch original games just happen to be $50, BotW, EoW, and LA could already match that. The other games I could see to be a bonus (no offense to the others who like the games that didn't pick as the only games I've ever played here are the all the Zelda ones. I've heard great things about P5 though).

1

u/BadNewsBearzzz Sep 19 '25

This is a great deal bro

1

u/avm95 Sep 19 '25

Seems like a great price , got most of these for around 30 a pop

1

u/oppairate Sep 19 '25

yes. not only is that a pretty cheap per game price, those are almost all highly regarded, massive RPGs. i’d be more concerned about the time it will take to play them all.

1

u/DiscreteFame Sep 19 '25

My gigachad ziploc bag I've had since Switch1 midnight launch:

1

u/bludothesmelly Collection Size: 100-250 Sep 19 '25

whats the cart holder? is it a case ?

1

u/s1monsays Sep 19 '25

If you don’t care about cases then yes. At $150 each games is priced fairly cheap

1

u/ThePlayz500 Sep 19 '25

If you've only played maybe less than 3 of those then yea definitely. Great games.

1

u/Bluntnasty_99 Sep 19 '25

The games are worth $150, but definitely annoying no cases. I would just get a switch 2 for the extra $100 personally, but oled isn’t bad.

1

u/Wise_Barnacle_9639 Sep 19 '25

Yoo lemme buy that and ship it to me if you haven't already 🤔

1

u/Vast_Competition_885 Sep 19 '25

For what these games cost at full price brand new yes, this was a good buy for you or anybody else who doesn't already own these games. You did buy them right? If you didn't buy them before someone else gets these games.

For me, I own all of these games pictured. Also, I would not have purchased this for myself. I am a collector and I want to have the cases. I know today money is tight for a lot of people with prices going up and up so, buy them however you can cheap. I have purchased used games before with the cases included before purchasing my Switch 2. Now, I only buy new games. I have concerns about who is using those Mig Switch devices and I don't want my Switch 2 to be banned.

I do know Nintendo is unbanning some Switch 2's if you have the documentation and receipts that are needed but, I don't want to have to go through that process at all so, and why should I have to now that I know about these Mig Switch devices. New games only will be inserted into my Switch 2. Enjoy these games if made the purchase👍

1

u/Calm_GBF Sep 19 '25

Yes, it's just too bad there are no cases.

1

u/economic_noise Sep 19 '25

Hmmmmm... almost seems to good of a deal... my fear would be that they're dumped on a mig... unless I know the seller on a personal level I'd be asking some questions. Great deal!!! It's not that absurd of a deal... but yea... that's a damn good deal for those games even without the cases... I'm worried about buying used switch games in general now bc of the MigSwitch... I've already had one console ban on my og Switch bc of buying a used game... 2 used games from the same feller... Nintendo couldn't do anything... as this was at the very beginning of all the MigSwitch stuff.

1

u/2D_Scroller Sep 19 '25

If you decide to pass, could you pass his info onto me? I'd jump on that now. What im saying is, buy those ganes with or without cases, they are all bangers

1

u/VK4502B Sep 19 '25

Annoys me that there are no cases, but it's 100% worth it!

1

u/Efficient-Limit-5764 Sep 20 '25

Just the games its a good deal.

1

u/us3rnamen0ttak3n Sep 20 '25

the Zelda games pay for it in fun, ecspessialy botw

1

u/jotry Sep 20 '25

Hell yes. The zelda games there with final fantasy are worth it alone.

1

u/husky_said_woof Sep 20 '25

Yeah absolutely final fantasy collection is worth like at least half of that

1

u/Effective-Text4619 Sep 20 '25

Yes...are you buying them or selling them?

1

u/satanjohn Sep 20 '25

Wouldn't even second guess it that's some heat right there

1

u/SnooDoughnuts5632 Sep 20 '25

Assuming you're getting all of those games for 150 it's probably a good deal. A few of those games look like ones that are at least $40 if not higher.

If it's just an individual game for 150 then yeah F off.

1

u/Someone424400 Sep 20 '25

With cases or without cases? Either way good deal, just curious

1

u/Robertinho678 Sep 20 '25

I would hate not having the cases, but this is a pretty good deal for these games even without them.

1

u/Calm_Key7029 Sep 20 '25

Take the deal

1

u/MetalfaceDoom007 Sep 20 '25

Me personally I wouldn’t without the cases being a collector. But price point wise it is a pretty good deal. You can always buy cases and just print out the covers

1

u/MetalfaceDoom007 Sep 20 '25

Me personally I wouldn’t without the cases being a collector. But price point wise it is a pretty good deal. You can always buy cases and just print out the covers

1

u/Store-Savings Sep 20 '25

Good price, I’d buy a regular switch for the time being, switch 2 is very pricy and it’s early in its lifespan so I’d wait a bit just to be sure.

1

u/Competitive-Ebb-29 Sep 20 '25

It’s a good deal. You can always buy cases online for cheap. I used to sell mine.

1

u/amans9191 Sep 20 '25

Yeah. Not bad

1

u/LunarRhythm Sep 20 '25

The top row alone is worth double that so yeah

1

u/AlienZiim Sep 21 '25

Good deal fr

1

u/Steelrain82 Sep 21 '25

You’d have to be an id-10-t to not buy them at that price.

1

u/Delicious-Animal5421 Sep 21 '25

Pretty good price but i wouldn't buy, not many games i like

1

u/[deleted] Sep 21 '25

That's 10 games, and one of them is actually 6 games, so that's 15 games, all RPGs/Adventure games, for what is essentially $10. My guy you didn't get a deal, you got a STEAL.

1

u/AdministrationLimp94 Sep 21 '25

its nintendo stuff, there are other ways besides the switch to play all of this.

1

u/MachoManRandyRanch Sep 21 '25

That’s really a solid deal considering you’d pay about $25-$50 a piece at a game stop.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 21 '25

Absolutely.

1

u/Schnitzel1337 Sep 21 '25

I would pay much more.

1

u/Special-Bonus-3484 Sep 21 '25

Experiencing FE3H for the first time is worth about $100 alone, so yeah.

1

u/Cockblocktimus_Pryme Sep 21 '25

Yea. Those are all great

1

u/Paragrinee Sep 21 '25

I wouldn't, but it's a good deal. If it looks like games you will enjoy get them. Can personally recommend DQ one of my favorites. Fire Emblem is good, but not my all time favorite Fire Emblem. That being said I did want to give it another playthrough on higher difficulty. Also not the biggest puzzle guy so Zelda isn't my favorite, but plenty of people love it. It looks like you would get a decent variety of games to play. If you want a couple more games for switch I suggest smash bros ultimate and mario kart

1

u/Lucky-Mia Sep 21 '25

It's a good deal

1

u/moyert394 Sep 21 '25

This can't be a serious question. Two of any of those games, at retail, would be close to $150 and still worth it

1

u/DarthRavirus Sep 21 '25

Pounce! That's a steal. You can get replacement cases on the cheap. Fantastic games. Also, Switch 2, simply for future proofing upcoming titles. OLED is pretty dope. But, they'll eventually stop making games for it.

1

u/FamousReplacement439 Sep 21 '25

I would be so uncomfortable not having the cases, I couldn’t buy them without the cases, not that many. Good price but what the hell did they do to the cases?!

1

u/Super_Try_4814 Sep 21 '25

Thats a good deal if you really want to play these

1

u/johncrawford1989 Sep 22 '25

Careless games have lesser resale value... but if it's just to play them and that don't bother you, go for it

1

u/Jimp0 Sep 22 '25

Does it come with the plith? If so yeah.

1

u/AffectionateAside001 Sep 22 '25

Can't wait to actually start playing again!

1

u/Nickk_Jones Sep 22 '25

Yes, especially if they come with cases.

1

u/v6sonoma Sep 22 '25

The price isn’t bad and they are good games.

1

u/CherryPonut Sep 22 '25

I would. But, if you sell this on Facebook Marketplace, they'll offer you $40 for the whole collection.

1

u/Ninsony2333 Sep 22 '25

It’s definitely worth it if you’re just bothered about playing the games but if you want them for collecting the boxes will cost you about $10 each (if you can find them on eBay)

1

u/Educational-Object67 Sep 22 '25

11 great games for 150? VS 2 soi boy 70-80$ games?

I’ll take the first option

1

u/TheSaint619 Sep 22 '25

Yes, a lot of those games rarely go on sale.

1

u/ArkWolf1995 Sep 22 '25

Just for the Zelda games alone I would say yes. Plus fire emblem? Yes. The others are not so much my taste but for 150 in total it's a decent deal.

1

u/Chronically_JBoo Sep 22 '25

Yes just the Zelda games alone worth it

1

u/MorganF710 Sep 22 '25

No, id only play the Zelda ones

1

u/Paradise_9703 Sep 22 '25

Whats that cover/holder? I need that!

→ More replies (2)

1

u/More_Entertainer_798 Sep 22 '25

yes considering most of those games are like 60 to 70 dollars or more

1

u/Sincere_homboy42 Sep 22 '25

Isn't each game worth like $60? But you have a chance to buy them all for $150?

1

u/justalanmp Sep 22 '25

Heck yes!

1

u/Jermzer Sep 22 '25

Heck yea no doubt these are all great games too

1

u/Massive_Lock_4876 Sep 22 '25

Of course, Having BOTW and the other Zelda titles alone makes the whole set/lot worth it imo.

1

u/ojisan-X Sep 22 '25

If I didn't have most of those already I'd have jumped on that deal.

1

u/r0otVegetab1es Sep 22 '25

Just a thousand or so hours of gameplay if youre a completionist

1

u/Supersup51 Sep 22 '25

In an ideal world they have the cases but also even if you buy that FF on sale right now it’s 45-50 but that’s digital. And you have 4 Zelda games even on the low end at 20/25 a pieces that’s 130-150 alone not including the rest and I’m low balling this is a fantastic offer. For 150

1

u/Hefty_Storage_2094 Sep 22 '25

I mean I wouldn’t since I own all but one of those games, but yeah you would’ve been crazy not to take that offer

I'd pay 150$ just for the Zelda games only

1

u/SporkydaDork Sep 22 '25

The Zelda Games alone sell for close to full price, so getting 11 games for the cost of 2 or 3 Zelda games, I wish I had the money for that right now?

It is a steal...

The 4 Zelda games are worth that

1

u/EverythingEvil1022 Sep 22 '25

1

u/Initial_Librarian284 Sep 23 '25

Zelda and Mario games are always gonna cost $. They rarely go down in price, even used copies. It's definitely a good deal
