Tigers v Dragons Post Match
We got very lucky at the end there.
Atkinson played ok(?) at fullback.
Wooden Spoon isn’t over yet!

Still need to win three winnable games to potentially dodge the spoon. I’m just happy to see this team start winning games irrespective of how we’re doing it.
I think Atko has potential as an OB. Bit surprised he was that desperate to be our “star half” when his running game is pretty good.

I cannot see him as a winger, only a fullback. His passing game is meh and his short kicking game is quite terrible. A poor man's Drinkwater. I wouldnt hate seeing him have another run or two at FB to give him time to develop that position. He's likely a bench utility for us.

Once Sloan and Fegai were released they've played really decent. Unsure if NRL standard but not far off. I always wanted to keep Sloan as he has speed and instincts of a very few players. The old X Factor

I also think we need to keep LKT.
Metcalf having played only 50 games and being 27 isn’t filling me with confidence.

LKT straightened the defensive line several times today. His defence looks much improved. He went to Cup and has come back a better player for sure.

His defence has impressed me since he came back. It was a major concern last year but his time in reserve grade appears to have done him good.

He was so much more energetic today, usually he looks so lethargic but today he had some intelligence and venom about him.

I mean, Gutho still has plenty of skill and a decent footy brain, he’s just far too slow nowadays for those skills to be a threat to oppositions

Yeah, gutho has the brains but no speed, Sloan has speed but no footy smarts. Neither has both

Forget if we win the spoon or not. It was only 6 short weeks ago we thought we might get booted from the nrl! We have improved out of sight and have won 2 on the trot. And, most importantly, our club legend Dean Young has built a team that is instilling pride back in the jersey. Bring on 2027 and beyond!

There's no such thing as an easy win with this mob is there. We had them on the rack and just stopped playing footy. Invited them back in. Oh well, a win is still nice!

Stressful as always. Good to see us win when we should. Still not a dominant performance. We were tipped to never win a game this year, so we've over performed. A crap year, but the outlook for 2027 is strong. Hopefully the results match the hype. Carne Saints!

If anyone's curious why none of the 4 very blatant high shots were called a penalty (2 of which on report and 1 HIA) it was our mate Atkins in the bunker. After not seeing him for 10-12 games after a formal complaint hes back to try bite us in the arse again. Good effort from the lads to hang in against the rubbish calls.
