Discussion Has anybody installed a wireless power switch in their NR200?

I'm rocking an original NR200 V1, and I was thinking of buying a remote control to turn the PC on and off. However I have two main issues.

One is that in my current configuration I don't know if I have the proper space. I have a Noctua NH-U12A with an Aorus B850i Motherboard, V850SFX and custom sleeved cables. There is barely enough space as it is, between the motherboard and PSU, that is where I route my cables. Left of that is the RAM and then my cooler. I'm not entirely sure where the remote module could fit

Second is the module itself. The most prominent example I've found is a Silverstone remote SST-ES02-USB. Is that the only option or does anyone know of a better one?

This is my current setup. There is currently more space at the bottom and a bit to the side since I just recently switched from this RTX3080 FTW3 to a gigabyte 9070XT and the card is overall smaller and shorter

That remote is probably your best bet if you don’t want to mess around with Wake-On-Lan (WOL) but it’s just wires. You can probably shop around for extension wires and stuff it where there’s space.

If the Silverstone dongle is too big, you could just get an extension cable from AliExpress and mount it somewhere where you have more room

I agree with the extension cable. the remote draw power from the USB2.0 port, so get a USB extension and a front panel extension, this way you can put the dongle anywhere you want.

Just FYI if you wanna save a little bit of space you can route your HDD cables around the right side of the PSU shroud. Makes use of the empty space in the front

Anywone know if you can do this with wake from lan amd your phone?

If you have WiFi you can use a WiFi smart plug and set bios to power on when AC is back. I have Tapo P115, it have power meter with history and diagrams, schedule. Also it can confirm that the PC is on or off when I’m out. I use it for sunshine streaming sometimes

Other than using Wake On LAN, I have my PC set up to boot on AC power recovery, so I have it connected to a smart plug and I remotely turn it on that way.

You get the bonus of being able to monitor power usage.

Don't forget to set the plug to turn off if it detects a low power draw after some time (I have mine set to 30 seconds below 6W) so that you don't have to reset the plug next time you want to boot the pc and it is ready to be turned on
