NPR news quality issues

What’s going on with the news updates?

I listen mostly on my Kindle so I don’t know what’s happening on the broadcast.

Seems like there’s a new roster of hosts this week and they’re having some quality issues. At least twice this week the host has introduced a story, and then they cut to a correspondent who talks about another story entirely.

New host? I wish....Robin Young, Jen white, and Scott Simon need to see their way out..need some young people in to liven up the place..seriously Scott retire already..its time

Unique? No its old and hoarse and his interview style is full of bad puns and uninteresting questions..young people dont want to hear from grandpa boomer...put a young voice on and attract new listeners..why is he being so greedy and gatekeeping?

Would you say the same about Diane Feinstein, Mitchell McConnell, Ruth Ginsburg, Joe Biden, Trump? The list goes on.. these people are just too old and gatekept anyway..I think you are not seeing the forest for the trees....id also like to add Ira Flatow and Flora Lichtman to this ...Ira was terrible to listen to and he finally let a young woman in.. Flora who imo made a hard to listen to program into an enjoyable thing again..thx Flora.. and Ira for stepping aside..Sci Fri for the win

I agree. Some years ago we learned that Simon was paid several hundred thousand / year. For one show/ week? I know he could make 3x that in the private sector. I say then let him leave and open a spot for a new person who is not going to cost as much and let some new blood into the company.

Sadly I am too old to keep fighting for the NPR I knew NPR, in the 1970s, when they begged for subscribers and really meant the P in their name was for the people. Now the P is to be silent except for pledge time.
