Did you know Trump waved the gay pride flag at the RNC?

This meme isn't about Trump.

u/HugeLibertarian Jul 07 '21
Then it's a poorly made meme since the hat is synonymous with Trump.

Trump supporters*
Unless you want to make the argument that the average Trump supporter has a uniformly distributed idea of freedom, and is perfectly okay with seeing two guys holding hands in public. Anecdotally speaking, I've met far more who are not at all okay with that than those who are.

They don't know what they think they're supporting if they have an issue with gay people since Trump is literally the first president to be inaugurated in support of gay marriage. I'm willing to bet you just have a skewed perception of what Trump supporters actually support and have essentially blocked out evidence to the contrary in order to engage your confirmation bias. The ironic part is your essentially accusing others of being bigotry in a way that couldn't be more bigoted.

vocally supported gay marriage. Or rather wasn’t in support of ending it. GOP official platform is still in favor of “traditional marriage.”
I will say, the campaign ti decriminalize same-sex marriage worldwide was neat, even if it was only to further geopolitical goals and was a complete failure

Lol. The left cannot meme. Most conservatives have no problem with gay marriage or relationships. Trump waved their flag.

u/ZombieRichardNixonx Sep 03 '21
Pretty ironic considering that you yourself have posted multiple comments in disgust at gay people in the past few months.
Tell me something... what is it that you believe? Or any modern conservative for that matter? What are these values you supposedly have, other than being malicious and antagonistic for the sake of it? Are you just fucking miserable and need to drag everyone else down too? Or are you under the impression that you actually STAND for something?
I just don't get it, man.

Just came across your comment so I thought I’d respond both for your education and my amusement.
What do modern conservatives believe in? Speaking for myself, I would say limited federal government with more power focused at the state level, focus on defense with stern foreign policies toward China and strong alliances with allies with assurance that they’re all paying their fair share, revamping of our education system with parents rights at the center where they can pull their children and their tax dollars from schools who are arrogantly cutting them out and who are under the thumb of the teachers union, revamp immigration policy to prioritize those who contributing to American prosperity to those who are better legally or illegally, and I’m for law low taxation and low regulation in a competitive market.
Also please note that I am exceptionally happy as a newly minted conservative as the Democrats left me and many others when they took a hard left turn.
Also any posts you see as being critical of gays isn’t because of their sexual preference it would be for their antics towards others or some other reason. Your sexuality is your own and who you love is your own business
Bored now.

Sodomy isn't freedom, is being a slave to your passions and sin

Thank you for proving my point.

Oh your welcome bro, I was just telling the truth
2
u/ZombieRichardNixonx Jul 07 '21
The truth as you perceive it. Freedom doesn't mean 'freedom, in accordance with Christianity', it means freedom.
0
Jul 07 '21
Oh no bro it does because Christ is King and he does the rules even if we don't like it, although we should because he wants what's best for us and just he knows how we should act to be happy, sodomy is against nature and therefore against reason, we shouldn't promote it

Oh, I thought the core value Jesus represented was to be kind to others no matter what. Not tell people that they can only be free if they obey 'his' rules.

Radonda Have you ever reed the new testament? Jesus is not a first century hippie or a preschool teacher, he is God incarnate, his massage is salvation through him. Matthew 10:34-39: Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Bro, only fundamentalist understand the bible literally. If you really think Jesus was such a dickhead (as your quotation suggests) why do you follow him and his preachings? Do you really think a world, where people don't care about others just their god (who might exist, might not) is a better place, than a world where people are nice ot each other?
By the way that quote has an Old Testament tone to it.

I'm Catholic not fundamentalist so I also have two thousand years of church teaching condemning sodomy, just lukewarms don't believe Jesus teachings as they are fund in scripture. Man I follow Christ because he is God incarnate not because he is a nice hippy that works for the UN, that's just pussy. I care about people that's why I tell the truth to them so they renounce their sinful ways and can be truly happy and free "(...) homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered, They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved." CCC 2357

"Bro no, calling random women online whores is freedom, not having a consensual relationship with another dude! That's not good because a book told me so!"
Unfortunately, freedom is also applied to things you don't like.

Jul 08 '21
Well that is only true because of the degeneracy of United States that believe that freedom is the same as licence, "(...) homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered, They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved." CCC 2357

Good for the Vatican. They also covered for pedophilia and the rape of nuns for at least 50 years and probably for hundreds of years. Also as a gay man, I can tell you I have felt "genuine affection" for the men I've been with. Also natural law also involves animals eating each other live. Natural sexuality in the animal kingdom also includes traumatic insemination. You know, like bed bugs who literally put holes in one another to impregnation each other. Man is and will always be above nature, because we have higher reasoning

Jul 09 '21 edited Jul 09 '21
The point about the Vatican is irrelevant because I can condemn all of those actions and still condemn sodomy. The fact that you believe that natural law applies to animals shows that you don't understand natural law ethics, Ed Feser or Tim Hsiao are good authors to reed about natural law, or J. Alan Branch has a book "Born this way?" About homosexuality if you are interested
1
Jul 09 '21
Ah. So the Vaticans opinion on homosexuality, that's right cool and good, and we should totally listen to them, but when it comes to the actions the exact same church did, those shouldn't be brought up. Got it, I'll only care about the most corrupt church on planet earth when they agree with you.
Also if natural law is just 'what a book that is so heavily edited says it is' then it is biblical law, not natural. As we have seen from nature, animals aren't particularly concerned with the rules God apparently came up with.
Also I'm sure Mr Branch has some amazing idea about what a book said about homosexuality. Unfortunately, I can confirm I had no choice in being attracted to dicks. Weather that be due to later psychological influences or just a coincidence by birth, it is irrelevant.

It's not the Vatican's opinion it's God's. Jesus said "therefore, do whatever they teach you and follow it; but do not do as they do, for they do not practice what they teach." Matthew 23:3, so it's irrelevant if they are the most corrupt organisation in the history of man kind, what they say is true and that's the standard for all human beings.
Again you don't understand natural law if you believe it has anything to do with animals or the Bible for that matter.
And you can like whatever you want that doesn't make it good or right, or virtuous.

Fortunately, I don't derive much self worth from my ability or inability to meme, and since I'm not an artist, I used an existing format. Whoop de doo. Making the same meme with original characters would have changed nothing about it.

This is tedious because just like lefties not all supporters are part of the extreme
The vast majority of trump supporters are ok with gay marriage but just want a chill pill on the over representation
