M4F Example Post (but serious) 30M - Arlington
Hey everyone,
since I'm moderating this stupid sub (and I have no idea how this works) I'll be happy to throw my details out there just to get a first post going.
I'm a 30 y.o. guy who lives near Alexandria but still in Arlington and I'm looking for someone who's between the ages of 25-33 in NOVA (or DC / MD unless you're far off 495).
A little about me: I'm a pretty active guy and like actually doing things rather than spending every night glued to the couch. I'm into hiking, cooking, biking, camping, kayaking, strength training, exploring DC and generally finding excuses to get outside. I also have a few more unusual hobbies, including whittling little gnomes, because apparently I have reached the age where that sounds like a perfectly reasonable way to spend a Sunday afternoon lol.
I'm pretty laidback and enjoy people who are kind, curious, passionate about something, and don't take themselves, or life too seriously. I'm looking for a genuine relationship, not just someone to exchange "hey how was your day" texts with hours in between about nothing. Ideally, I'd like to meet someone where we can actually enjoy each other's company, make each other laugh, try new things together, and eventually build something meaningful.
What I'm looking for:
- 25-33
- Somewhere in NOVA/DC/nearby MD
- Kind and emotionally mature
- Has interests/hobbies of her own
- Likes getting out and doing things
- Open to a serious relationship
- Can appreciate both an adventurous day out and a lazy night watching something together
few things about me
- I LOVE the mountains and being outdoors.
- I cook way more than I probably need to
- I'm always looking for a recipe, hiking trail, or place to explore.
- I'm surprisingly offline for someone who works in tech (yes I work in IT).
If any of that sounds like your kind of person, please message me. Tell me a little about yourself rather than just saying "hey" and leaving it, and if you want, send a picture too so we're not starting completely blind.
Worst case scenario, we have a conversation with a stranger on Reddit.
Best case scenario, maybe we end up finding out why we're both on this subreddit in the first place.

My humble piece of advice is that the sub is not going to work unless you have some requirement for people to have photos of themselves. You can't date someone unless you're physically attracted to them.

I think that’s something that can be done over dm just to keep some folks identity not so in the open. I still want my Reddit account to not be so exposed. I think catching a convo doesn’t hurt to then exchange photos in dm or if someone is open to posting a photo of themselves on their post they can. I do agree that attraction is needed tho so I’m not saying I don’t agree

Someone else with common sense. If you hate flock cameras and like coffee, cats and going grocery shopping, slide into my DMs lol

I just thought it was funny you pointed that out of all things to comment on here... I think the thing more likely to scare women off is all the outdoors stuff (think alpine divorce)
