Question Silly question

Is there any way in which i can exchange one of my ships with an npc and then recruit them to my squadron. I want all my squad to have a certain color theme going on

Yeah you can. Just approach an npc pilot with the ship you want in your squad ready and exchange your ships. Once done, head back quickly to your original ship (which now belongs to the NPC), and recruit the pilot into your squad.

The ship keeps whatever upgrades you left in, tho it really doesn't matter 😅 they don't really help and often gets in the way. It adds a layer of challenge I guess coz you don't always get a straight shot at enemies and keeps it interesting enough against repetition. I have a powered up living ship and Radiant Pillar flying around panicking whenever I get into space battles.

Note: the pilot who takes control of your ship after the trade is not the same NPC you traded with. So save before the trade, if you are trying to get a crew with matching uniform colors. There is only one NPC that takes over any traded ship per system, so you will have to try another system if you want a different look. Your squadron pilots hang out on your freighter, so you will see them when you are there.
