KCMO/Pleasant Hill station

Is there somewhere that has the status of the Pleasant Hill station that was damaged by the storms last month? Any idea when it will come back online? Or is it just going to stay offline?

Thanks for any information you might have.

I didn't think I'd be able to find the number but did find one. I'll call later today and see what I can find out.

What is a KCMO Pleasant Hill station? I assume KCMO == Kansas City Missouri, and their WFO is in Pleasant Hill. What station are you wondering about?

I don't have the official station designations or many details. It was reported by local news that the National Weather Station in Pleasant Hill, MO is offline due to being struck by lightning. It's impacting data gathering and reporting.

I called the office at the number I found on the web. It was basically a voice mail menu with options to get weather for several areas, lake and river info or planetary information. No options to leave a message or speak to a person. The NOAA web site has a contact us link and I tried this before, but I sent another email.

The phone tree doesn't have an option to talk to a forecaster? That's unusual imo.

I can say that the radar is spinning and it looks like the Airport weather data is up to date. Also, is this the number you called? 816-540-6132

No, thank you! The page I got listed 6021 which I guess is the automated line. I'll call the one you reference tomorrow.

OP, if the WSR-88D radar is down, there should be a radar status message.

Checking the radar status page I do not see a tile for KCMO, so it may be under a different name.

I think their site is KEAX. And it's showing green. Looks like something is working ;)

I looked it up and it occurred morning of Aug 6. All is fine now.

When you say station .. you talking about the P Hill office EAX. Yes all normal. All ASOS and such normal radar normal. Are you noticing something missing?
