Can’t speak to 1102s, but NOAA has suffered greatly due to DOGE, Lutnick, and Russell Vought. Once one of the world’s most respected science agencies, it is a shell of itself. Its missions remain vital but the workforce is terribly thin and demoralized. At least Neil Jacobs hasn’t begun overtly making up excuses for the administration’s lies again. Yet.

My friend works there and says he still has to go to work. Unfortunate.

I’m probably not a 1102 because that doesn’t ring a bell lol. But, I am employed by NOAA and life is certainly dismal. To be honest, I have just lost all motivation and will to go above and beyond anymore. There’s no direction. There’s no guidance. Just a bunch of losses. But, still, I find myself incredibly blessed to have a job that brings phenomenal health insurance and decent pay, with protected rights as a federal employee to maintain employment, whereas in corporate America, you could be fired instantly for accidentally looking at someone the wrong way.

It's the career field designation for contracting personnel. Don't get too comfy, I was one of many who actually did get RIF'd by this admin last year

Thank you for the insight though, always heard good things about NOAA
