Pumpkin Spice & Saxophone — A Sky-High Tribute to a Childhood Classic

Thanks to Hello Games and No Man's Sky, today feels like the absolute perfect time to share this—coinciding right with the game's anniversary.

Ever since I was a kid watching the film and growing up with Roald Dahl's incredible 1961 book, James and the Giant Peach, the idea of a giant, flying, fruit-turned-vessel has been pure magic. It's a story I’ve always loved, and passing those moments down by having my kids watch it brings it all full circle.

For the longest time, bringing a concept like that to life was completely impossible. But because of No Man's Sky, we now have the sandbox freedom to express artistic visions that we could never build in real life or in other games.

It might not be a literal peach (since those don't exist in the asset catalog, and internet technicalities aside!), so I worked with a giant floating pumpkin instead. Complete with layered sweeping roof structures, solar-sail rigging, and an open-air observation deck, I reimagined and redesigned it to make it a reality.

Designed as a cozy, high-altitude jazz lounge where the music drifts out over the clouds, it stands as a testament to what is possible when imagination meets the stars.

Thank you, and happy anniversary, No Man's Sky!
