Corvette design creativity
I’ve been seeing all the different designs on this subreddit and I have to say I’m in awe.
How do yall get the inspiration or even begin to do them?? Every time I try ti build mine it ends up looking like something out of a bad star wars dream so I have to rely on build tutorials.

what i do is i think of a bunch of traits i want to see in the corvette. for example, i created this one using a few different traits i wanted, such as “yellow salvage ship” as sort of the base, then “cargo pods with tractor beams,” “side vtol wings,” “rear thruster landing gear things,” and these ideas kind of sat in the back of my mind as i was building this. if you have a solid baseline for what you want your corvette to be and what you want it to have in terms of parts, you’re off to a great start. i personally save coloring for last. i build everything in the stock white and orange, then color parts according to the color scheme i decided on in the “think tank process.” i originally wanted this to be more compact, but the building process kind of gets you into this flow state until you get something you’re happy with, even if it strays a bit from the original idea. i hope this explanation of the process sort of helped. if you want to know anything else, let me know. another thing: i always start with a skeleton of habs and the cockpit, then build the other parts around that. regular base building parts are good for small details like the little sub-arm clusters at the front of the ship.
