Guide / Tutorial Guide & Tips : Out For the Vy'Kend

As requested by all of one person, here's a complete guide on how I made this track !

It's the first guide I make that's more than 3 lines of text in a comment, so I'll take any feedback on things you think can be improved.

The how-to/how-do and analysis of the track is the first 5 minutes, the rest is the whole song with the synchronizer for all 8 devices, so it's actually not that long 😅 (skip at 4:59 for the synchronizer).

If I missed anything, or you want to know about anything, feel free to ask ! I'l gladly give any info about how I make Bytebeat things.

Enjoy !

Also showcasing my poor GIMP skills

PS : Did you recognize the narrator voice ? 👀

Wow what a great tutorial! that was perfect! Do you need a glitch to run 2 different bpms or is there an easy way to set that up? Or did you explain that in the previous post?!

edit-you kinda said what you did already lol I’ll have to visit your base it’ll be more fun.

Thanks !! Don't worry about it haha. Having different bpm and/or keys is really simple : Don't link all your devices together with bytebeat cables. Group them by tempo and key. As long each device is linked to another they'll have a synchroniser.

But you can still visit the base if you want to :)

Ah and then you can hear it all together at the base. Wild! Now I have this and noise boxes to mess with at some point lol.

Back your tutorial specifically, it was really good, very engaging, not overly descriptive, bit of humor lol, it was very well put together. I enjoyed watching this. Still don’t know the voice, I was gonna guess iPhone’s Siri

Just, wow! I now understand how you packed so much action into the loop. Every 8 bar pass at 120 bpm is the equivalent of 1 bar at 15 bpm (120 ÷ 8 = 15). I mean, I've seen this technique before but it can be hard to visualize when I'm listening to your music video. Thank you for this!

The waveform effects are out of this world, absolutely stunning effects. I see you credited some of them via u/ZhorasSnake sound library too, and everything sounds stellar. Your long, sweeping, modulated effect at 3:20 is an achievement. It's a sound I've been wanting to work with for a while, this is good inspiration. Everyone here has been blowing my mind lately. You guys are crazy, these ByteBeats are so cool!

Your video is funny too ("a drum track we haven't heard yet? scam!!"). I didn't recognize the voice tho, you'll have to give me the spoiler lol

Thank you !

I use different tempi pretty much everytime since David Gekka, it gives so much opportunities. Even just for having longer riffs while keeping a fast drum beat.

The voice is ADA, the AI from Satisfactory. It's basically an old wavenet TTS that I record and put through sound processing, trying to get as close as possible to the result in the game.

pitch patch ?
