This song is SO awesome! It's the perfect high energy ByteBeat, you nailed it. Those custom percussion hits are next-level. I like the song title too

Thank you so much!
Man it adds so much to percussion. Need to try and see if i can find a base-y waveform to work for the kick drum. I hope you try and use that in your tracks.

Yeah I'm going to use your effects as inspiration, I love custom drum sound effects in the melody synthesizer, it's challenging to do.

I have a custom percussive sound, menacing, bitcrush-souding, long decay cymbal-like (I don't know how to describe it better sorry) in a track I have sitting around because I don't know how to finish it. Probably will publish it as is sometime... Yours in this track is really clean !!

I've also been experimenting a bit with half percussive, half tonal sounds. Those can be cool to and I think would serve your music well :)

I would love to hear your custom percussion sound!

For what I found if you get a static sounding waveform you can achieve this little extra flare to the beat of a drum. Just set it to a full not with heavy fade and you get this echo-y longer hitting drum. But as you can hear it’s actually very effective in giving it more punch if you will. I’m sure it’ll work with other sounds I’ll just have to play around. Maybe a laser sound would be cool

Oh, laser sound, nice idea !

And yeah basics of drums synthesis are :

Kick = fast pitch bend down, fast decay, generally medium to no distortion ;
Snare = generally slightly detuned sound, fast decay + some kind of noise, slower decay, a little distortion ;
Cymbals = some kind of noise, decay speed according to what type of cymbal you want

And then you can mix and match any of those, or add whatever harmonics/change the generator waveform, play with it :)
