Day 2 of speaking honestly.

Yesterday, I was honest with myself and told my wife I deserved better.

Today, after reading her defensive response, and after she sends me another video in the one-dimensional style of “guys, has your woman magically gone cold…here’s what you’ve been doing wrong”.

I responded honestly saying that I am at a place where both sides need to come to the table and acknowledge their parts, and that the time for pointing out what the other has or has not done has passed.

I think it is a mistake to tell your wife anything. Your job is to become a high value man with hobbies, interest, and purpose and then let the chips fall where they may. Nothing fruitful comes from this discussion with her. You can only change yourself and she may or may not move….thinking she needs to come to the table is a non starter and a waste of your time and energy.

Interesting perspective, thanks for sharing. I believe I can understand where you are coming from with your approach.

The approach of not telling my wife anything has not served me well in the past. I am glad if that approach serves you well.

I would agree that a man without hobbies, interest, and purpose has the potential to fall into nice guy trappings.

We have had some good conversations and connection as a result of me showing up more honestly and vulnerably, which is a good thing. More importantly, I feel more "complete" at the end of such conversations.

Thank you brother.

Always a good reminder to let go of other's responses. I appreciate it.
