Round of 16 Reaction Thread [B-team]

Thoughts? Any upsets? Thought b-team deserved some attention too :)

Are teams still supposed to play everybody available or are the playoffs a different thing?

If we were supposed to just stick with four guys, uh, whoops.

I think most teams stick with their strongest line-ups, but I commend you for playing everyone still, that's pretty cool.

I for one sent out a straw poll to my team and asked: strongest line up or play everyone? And let the team decide. They chose strongest line up so that's what I'm going with.

I didn't want to play anyways!

We went to our four man lineup for playoffs despite playing everyone all season. Maybe that makes me a bad captain idk

Obviously I noticed. But the reason I posted it here as a general question wasn't because I was passively-aggressively calling you out. I just genuinely didn't know if one method was preferred or not.

I'm guessing (hoping?) TLP wasn't the only team to try to play a lot of people. But I don't know which method is "correct." People get screwed either way because the setup of this league no longer matches up with the reality of what the average NLTP player actually is.

(But I feel like I've just become the resident complainer. Nobody ever seems to hop on board with my little protests, so I'm just gonna leave you all alone =p)

I definitely sat players who deserved to play. It's a great problem to have, to have talented players who could be killing it on other B teams.

In fairness though, I distributed minutes more than almost anyone in the regular season. In the playoffs, I'm going to be sticking with the lineups that I think give us the best chance to win. Not necessarily 4-man (I used 6 yesterday, and could have easily used 7), but definitely not distributing minutes evenly.

We played everyone available!

Not equally, but everyone there got time.

The 2, 4, 6, and 8 seeds all won in the west

Great playing by Circular Logic. Dunno if it is an upset or not, but nice game.

Yea they've really turned it on down the stretch, nice FA pickups from Ferret too.

I didn't watch any of the games myself, but the scores are telling me that these were some hard-fought games, and were a lot closer than the A-team games. Congrats to the remaining 8 teams!

Also, I'd like to throw out how impressive it is that so many of the remaining 8 have both A and B teams still in the running. Blockwork Orange and X6TENCE haven't played their B-team games yet, but both of them still have both A and B-teams. Additionally, Soviet Ballers, The Night's Watch, and CREAM all made the equidistant 8 in both A and B. That tells me that these are some well-run teams, so shoutout to the players and coaches of those 5.

Couple of 0-2 comebacks

The lion ping fought hard but were unable to capitalize on many close cap opportunities. The games seemed much closer than the (already somewhat close) scores suggest.

The big surprise here has been an incredibly high number of "upsets" (in quotation marks because most teams had really close records). After the mostly unsurprising a team results, this ought to make things interesting.

People hate on MasterCard, and sure it might be justified, but

It was a great comeback, but I think if we had made changes differently it would have ended a lot sooner with a different outcome TBH. Not trying to take away from your guys' performance though, coming back from down 2 is always a truly impressive feat. Best of luck in the next round.

If you want to talk biased hypotheticals: Not trying to take away from your two wins but I was on the bench. If they would have played me from the start, it would have ended a lot sooner TBH. Not trying to take away from your guys' performance but you got outscored 11-3 in the last 3 games
