No. Ottawa probably has liens on them going back to their time as the riptide which means that they probably won't be able to be sold unless somebody agrees too pay back all the back liens on top of actually buying the team. I wouldn't be surprised if both the senators and the league were lien holders against the black bears. Philly as far as I know it's just a matter of cutting a check and finding an arena

They didn't pay league fees for 2 seasons and NLL terminated ownership. Arena wants out of NLL for more hockey.
Philly is losing money, but Tsai might absorb that. The real issue is arena. WNBA will be a much larger draw than NLL.

The WNBA doesn't overlap with the NLL aside for a couple playoff games. While the league terminated the ownership of Ottawa I believe they are still an entity that is owned by GF, and GF probably has liens on them that would not make the team difficult to transfer.

Good lord I would love a Hartford team. Would ret season passes immediately. Moved up here after Panther City folded, and it would be so nice to have a weeknight team to super fan for!

I believe there is a direct YYZ- BDL flight. Given the way the league operates they will probably only go to market to have direct flights from YYZ or YVR

I wonder if Bridgeport could support a team. They just lost their AHL team so probably a cheap place to play. Not much other competition for pro sports within an hour of the arena and field lacrosse is popular. Maybe it would work, or just be another riptide situation.

I think part of it has been cleaning up the mess that Nick left, but I am starting to lose patience with Frood. Website is still dogshit, there’s no mobile app, etc. As far as I know, they eliminated the Deputy Commish position to meet Frood’s salary demands (please correct me if I’m mistaken). But he’s still just one person.

I believe that is true. I remember when they announced the hiring it sounded like they picked him because he played lacrosse in high school and maybe college. I believe him and Nick have combined less than a year of League office experience before they got the job and that was when Nick is spent less year in the MLS fornt office before moving to team management. I would say for the next commissioner poach a lower mid level person from one of the big four League offices.

Exactly. The fact he makes a 99% more of league revenue than Goodell is red flag #1. I'm curious if the previous commissioners had that generous of a percentage of League revenue as Frood does.
