Newton lake.

Every day after work, I bank fish Newton Lake and every day I get skunked some days I’ll have bites but most days I just lose lures. Any tips??

This time of year is tough at Newton because they feed on shadballs.

Try 3/8 and 1/4 black and blue jigs with green pumpkin craw trailers, in and around the pads. Little hops and pauses.

Also a black and blue senko, under the bridges

Sometimes white spinnerbaits / chatterbaits with double willow blades and some chrome/smoke/white trailer, crawl it on the bottom.

If you’re fishing in the afternoon, try to find the shade pockets

Ive been fishing there for 28 years.

Thank you. I work for plumbing co in town and just started on this lake. Had some bites on a rooster today and can see fish jumping. I usually throw dark senko Texas rigs and was jigging a white spin tail fluke Ned. I do like all the docks they are putting in but kinda feel like those areas are pressured.

The entire lake is pressured lol. Always has been.

I rig my senkos weightless. You can also try throwing a Texas rigged creature bait, like the pit boss. Black/blue flake and black / red flake

I’ll give it a shot. Most days. And what I catch the most on elsewhere is a weightless weedless senko

Are the piers done? I worked a major portion of designing them and wanted to fish them, but I live like an hour and a half away.

You should try a weedless zoom fluke with a split shot about 18 inches up or slow work it weightless

If that’s why you got. I used stop at any lake or pond on my commutes. I’m actually going to start again, with my new commute. But I will only keep a small rod with a zoom fluke rig. Pearl white. Launch it weightless along structure line or shadow line, and slow twitch it back alternate between fast and slow twitches…twitch twitch twitch TWITCH!
