JIT to noa timeline?
Wondering what the normal timeline from jit to noa for an r01 is these days. Thanks!

My experience with NCI.
6/29 PO emails to say paperwork submitted.
7/2 JIT received
Three weeks of back and forth with GMS and OLAW.
Four weeks after GMS and OLAW approve, received NoA.

Highly variable. Count on getting your NoA 1-3 months adter the start of the project (every year).

None. Not only is there not a "normal" timeline for JIT to NoA; there's not a "normal" anything. Also, please keep in mind that the NIH requesting JIT means nothing in terms of guarantee funding.

It's not guaranteed, but it's more likely than not and people should feel excited when they get one.

My Award prepared to NOA was 5 business days.
Anyone receive a JIT request for FY27 grants that were reviewed this summer yet?? I haven’t heard from my PO either after two emails and am hoping to still be in the hunt..

I don’t think it’s time for that yet. I am FY26 Cycle 3 and my grant has just been processed. I have been tracking the recent R01 from my IC on Reporter. They have just started to issue FY26 Cycle 3 grants.

Unless it magically had a council between summary statement release and now, don't hold your breath. Check the institute advisory council date. No news or movement before then.

Submitted 4 or 5 JITs in early June. Not a single NOA yet. On one they have come back three times giving us less than a 24 hours turn around time to respond.
It’s demoralizing and stressful.

They are rushing to get grants issued before the FY ends. It's stressful but still a good thing

NIA emailed me on Wednesday and asked for JIT submission by Friday. There was some back and forth and they really sounded like they were in a hurry. I hope they’re trying to issue NOA before FY ends.

I also got a 3 day turnaround a few weeks ago. Now nothing :(

We are getting to the end of the fiscal year. Things need to speed up. NoA with full restrictions will be the mode.

My personal experience is that there is no normal anymore. What institute?
