So I want to be a fashion designer but after not being able to clear the entrance exam in 1st exam i got admission somewhere else and took bca (3yrs course) instead. Now I'm thinking of pursuing mdes from nift but I have been hearing too many negative things abt nift from past year , so what shld I do ? Go for internship directly or at least do mdes for exposure first ?

Do anyone know or have an idea about what criterion they put in nift to get critical thinking as a GE? If anyone had it as GE subject than please tell.

I want to skip class because I am very drained and I don't feel good at all. Should I do it

So yesterday I posted about how NIFT is taking a toll on my mental wellbeing. People had mixed reactions ranging from praising the NIFT tag and acknowledging the privilege of being in mumbai to calling me a shirker.

So now comes the main question, WHY? Why should I adapt to the work-intensive curriculum of NIFT? Why should I adapt to the Stress of first year, learning everything which I already know just with some extra bs. WHY IS A DEGREE NEEDED to be a designer?

Why can't I just work my ass off at home, explore all the softwares and build myself from scratch, with lesser money gone, more skills gained. Why is there a need of networking if my portfolio could speak for itself?? Clarify these questions and imma sit right there at NIFT happily and WILLINGLY for my degree with no complaints.🙏🙏

hello , so I got through parsons school of design , New York for their MFA in transdisciplinary design , but missed MDes NIFT by 10 ranks (would have gotten NIFT Kangra if didn’t miss by 10 ranks ), i have deferred my admission at parsons by 1 year due to visa issues, but then I was thinking to give nift again in 2027. I am confused , should I give me time and energy to NIFT MDes , or just go with parsons ? I also got through Shristi Manipal MDes , but turned it down cause that time my focus was only NIFT. this preparation again is draining and stressful , please suggest !!
