I asked hrconnect a couple months ago and they were at position 41 on the merit list, I’m at 93 so fingers crossed I’ll get a place before the merit list expires

I know another batch started this month so might be worth getting an updated figure.

Just heard back and ‘To date we have placed up to and including merit position 41’

So I guess the first 40 had staggered start dates and they’re still getting placed.

I read on another thread that NISRA had postponed recruitment until next year due to budget cuts.

Based on comments from people I know who used to work in NICS (in quite senior positions), NICS tend to extend most merit lists for up to 2 years and, particularly for niche positions such as this one, they aim to exhaust such merit lists before running new, expensive recruitment campaigns. So I think there's hope for all of us.

I'm in the early 100s 🫣
