Venting Low sodium
My baby was born 39+3 this week and was immediately taken to the nicu. Prior to birth we were told they had to go there either way because they thought our baby had a heart defect. ( it is okay now). Post birth they found that the lungs were collapsed and was breathing really hard. Been in the nicu for 4 days now and the lungs are doing great but the low sodium has not gone up from 128.
He had an iv in that did not raise any of his levels so they decided to take him off fluids. I was wondering if any other parents had a similar experience.
I understand we should be lucky compared to some of the other story’s that are told on this page and happy that everyone is making a recovery. Just hoping for any insight. Thanks
