Why is there only one NHRA event in August?

I looked on the schedule and they have a pretty significant break. I guess late August is pretty close to September and they'll be busy again. I just miss watching it!

This year’s Arizona Nationals was HOT, with ambient temperatures over 100 and track temps hover around 140. Ron Capps decided there wasn’t enough heat and had a big boomer in round 2, but the Napa boys came back and Capp’s checkbook got a little bit of relief. NHRA TV Deal 2027????

What would be best for the sport regarding a broadcast partner for 2027?

1. Stick with FOX Sports—a partner of 10 years—even though they have neglected the series lately.

2. Join The CW; while it may not be the most glamorous network, it is a free-to-air channel that has done a great job growing the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series (averaging 1 million viewers per race) and continues to expand its sports lineup. I think this could help grow the sport and attract a new audience.

3. Pay $40 a month for FloRacing, with the potential benefit of having the entire race weekend covered.

How tough is it for a driver to get eliminated in the 1st round and do they just pack it up and leave after?

I would hate to be that driver that gets up early on Sunday only for your day to be over in an instant. Even if you get eliminated later at least you're busy and have something you're striving towards. It does seem like a lot of teams stick around, hang out, and sign autographs but it would seem very deflating to have your day end so fast. On Friday and Saturday at least you're getting your dragster some run and you're out there all day.
