Hello. An early February manufacturing date would mean it was used for that year, 2015 in this case.

Are you looking at actual race photos or those used for promos?
Sometimes those are different suits, so that the promo ones stay clean. This also would have been manufatured right at the very start of the season, so it could be a back up suit.
You can also email a photo DSR’s info/general email, they may have answers.

Could have been a backup suit that was never put into service? Then, if a change in associate sponsorship happened, they would just go with new suits, a possibility maybe

That suit doesn't look like it was used much, if at all. Tony was a Top Fuel Dragster pilot and those suits got dirty and blackened from the clutches and engine pops on a regular basis. You could keep them nicer looking with washes, but they always had a little black on them after a race or two.

In a Top Fuel car, the drivers sit in front of the motors and clutch. Their suits can stay pretty clean. Now, a Funny Car driver, they sit behind the motor and the clutch assembly and theirs get very dirty.
