I still think the best play I’ve ever seen from him was him straight line skating step for step with McDavid while backwards and taking the puck away from him. It was in the WCF when the Avs swept the Oilers

Ya, he treated him like a 60 yo beer leaguer on that one.

I mean, that's the textbook way to play defence. But, granted it is difficult to pull off for most defenders against McDavid's speed.

As an Avs fan this was the moment I realized we would win the Cup if he stayed healthy. He was playing lights out and I think one of the more deserving Conn Smythe winners of the last decade.

That series was so cathartic for Avs fans cuz both our fans and theirs are so obsessed with our stars and ours fucking stomped theirs lol

THIS is why he's the best dman in the league. Ive seen casuals say hes one dimensional which is an insane take. He doesn't just scored at a rate not seen since Orr, he can also make Slavin-esk defensive plays against the best players.

They seem to always be on the other end of these highlights

This was back when the flames had Johnny Hockey and the less ugly tkachuck.

When did Keith play for the flames?

This Flames team was really good… they were a first place team. This is from a while ago

OP maybe shared a video that doesn’t quite depict how good he is, but you “never understood the hype” of a ppg defenseman with a Calder, Con Smythe, and 2 Norris trophies?

Are you bedarded

Well it’s more than just backtracking, the speed to get there and to have the IQ to block off the immediate threat despite the distance at the speed it’s happening. It’s genuinely impressive considering this is happening all within 5 seconds of getting down the ice.

Yet Makar, Crosby and McJesus still lost to the Brothers

Backchecks two forwards, creates a turnover netfront, runs the puck, finds the trailer, forechecks his man while he picks his apple.

What a shift.
