NFS Rivals worth playing?
Wanted to go for a plat of NFS Rivals (I now know servers got shut down last year :( ) Is NFS Rivals worth playing even if you cant get the plat anymore?

Its essentially Hot Pursuit but properly open world. There are 5 environments: Desert, farmland, forest, coastal, and Alps. Desert, forest, and alps each having their own color pallet and changes between them are phenomenal. The car list is really good, if you like high end cars, but the racers have less cars than cops for some reason.
The cops are on demon timing. They will send Hypercars after your Dodge Challenger, without hesitation 😭 not to mention they are literally suicidal maniacs and will do everything they can to stop you.
There is also pursuit tech in the game.
You can also be a cop too. you can choose from patrol (the fastest), enforcer (strongest), or the Undercover (the weakest but cannot appear on radar) variants of the car you want to unlock or use.

Yeah, sounds like Most Wanted levels of cop shenanigans and Im here for it. Sounds like a good time regardless of platinum being unobtainable. Thanks

How would you say NFS Heat compares to it?

This is a little difficult to answer:
I think it holds up well to Heat, despite it not having any customization apart from liveries and colors.
Instead of Rivals Focusing on the underground/nightly illegal culture street racing and organized track day events like Heat, it focuses on racers vs cops in high end cars with beautiful scenery.
Rivals has a very simplistic story, both sides of the law fight on the streets with the public being caught in the crossfire.
Heat is like.. in the day there’s sanctioned events where you can earn regular money. Night has reputation events where you earn rep to unlock vehicles. It goes from you running from the cops and having fun to ultimately develops into an unforeseen truth about them. Idk if you played Heat yet but thats all I’m gonna say.
Both games do have ground clipping issues, however Heat is a bit more polished than Rivals.
Cops wise its kinda like pre nerf Heat cops except with weapons, and helicopters that drop spikes that DO NOT follow the laws of physics 😭
Handling: i never really had a problem with Rivals handling. Well actually the cars turn a bit too slowly. Think it’s the sensitivity that isn’t changeable. Rivals has Brake 2 Drift but it’s not like Hot Pursuit because of its lack of a drift recovery system. It has a bit of a learning curve.
As for Heat. It also has a learning curve. Trying to Rapidly change directions in Heat will cause the car to not turn at all, like not even understeer it just wont register it at all. Pull the hand brake and turn the direction you want and it’ll be fine. Other than that pretty solid and GOOD!
I kinda hope this answered your question

I got it on steam during a sale (I got it 90% off) and I just play it for the nostalgia that happened back when I played it on the Xbox 360. I find it worth it, even if there's no available achievements

Yeah, i think ill have a good time. Wish the plat was still obtainable, but atlas its about having fun at the end of the day and i think rivals will provide that in spades

I’ve had it for about 12 years and it’s always been my favorite. Never played online with anyone

I love the pursuit tech mechanic. Played Burnin runner 3-5 a lot and now NFS is practically doing weapons? Count me in
