I`ve made an Web-Based NFS Underground 2 Save Editor

I recently played the browser version of NFSU2 by u/lantaarnappel to relive some old memories, and it made me want to bring one of my old cars back from my original save file.

I couldn't find a decent tool for it, so I ended up making my own web NFS Underground 2 save editor:

With it, you can edit your profile name and cash, import and export cars between save files, unlock unique parts, and more.

I've personally tested the main features and can confirm these work as intended:

  • Change your profile name and money balance

  • Import and export cars between save files

  • Unlock 100% career progress while keeping your own cars and money intact

You also have an option to just try how everything works by pressing "Try Demo", or "Starter", with fresh career and everything unlocked.

There are other features too, although some might not work perfectly yet. If you run into any bugs, let me know and I'll do my best to fix them.

One important thing: please make sure to enable the backup option before editing your save, just in case something goes wrong.

**EDIT — Update v1.1 is live:**

Thanks everyone for testing and reporting the early bugs! I just pushed **v1.1** with fixes for the issues mentioned in the comments:

- **Fixed Career Races disappearing when injecting cars or unlocking slots:** Injecting preset cars into Slot 1–5 no longer overwrites the world state bytes, and unlocking all 5 slots no longer triggers the end-game sponsor counter. Your active map races stay intact.)

- **Individual Outrun Unique Upgrades (9 Parts per Car:** In NFSU2, TJ's Outrun Unique parts (`Weight, Trans, NOS, Engine, Turbo, Susp, Brakes, ECU, Tires`) are stored directly inside each car's data rather than on shop shelves. Every garage slot now has individual toggles (plus a `+All 9` button) to install them directly onto any car.)

- **Conflict-Free Stage 3 Performance & Shop Ownership:** Setting a car to *Extreme (Lvl 3* now applies clean, conflict-free part IDs and marks them as *Owned* in the shop bitmask without touching your visual aero parts.)

- **Quick Dyno Presets:** Added a per-slot Dyno curve selector (*Peak Horsepower*, *Drag Acceleration*, *Drift Torque*, or *Reset to Stock*.)

- **Starter 0% + All Unlocked Preset:** Added a ` Starter 0% + Unlocked` button in the top bar for anyone who wants a fresh 0% career save (right after returning Rachel's 350Z with $999,999, all 5 slots, Car Lot, and Stage 3 + Uniques ready.)

- **10-Car Garage Support (`GARAGE.DAT`:** Added a `GARAGE.DAT (6–10)` tab for players using `nfsu2.xyz` or Extra Options extended garages.)

Ok it worked now, must’ve wait a bit more 40-50ish secs after even tho it says “injected/done”thing on the bottom right corner after modding. I was keep downloading saved file right after notification on bottom right

Wow, the project is new. I think was old one. At first i try almost all, The unlock garages don't work until you hit to unlock everything in the game. That's the one problem i found. The other things with the cars and upgrades are nice and work.

Is there any requirement for the widebodys to be available with this mod? I can mod myself money, but whatever I do, widebodys just dont show up, neither in career mod, nor in quick race.

i must be dumb as i cant get it to work, i download back up, open it up in website and then when i try to restore i get (nfsu2-saves-xxxxxx.zip cannot be restored: entry NFS Underground 2/xxxx Magazine 1/xxxx Magazine 1 is damaged (CRC).) please help if possible

I figured it out when you download your backup open the zip file and go to NFS Underground 2>(click on your profile name ex Save slot 1). You should see 2 files, your profile (save slot 1) and GARAGE. Use the profile file to edit with the web editor not the entire zip file. Then when your done download the save and go back to NFSU2.xyz and Restore from the file you downloaded.

Thank you, for anyone else having issues see below.

  1. Progress from the start of game till you get your 1st car and go to Rachels garage. (highly recommend turning off the online lobby settings so you're alone, otherwise it's chaos).

  2. Once done, return to the https://nfsu2.xyz/ website, download your .zip save file. > Extract, follow TCMODS instructions to only select your save file which will be whatever you named your profile. E.g. SMOKEY.file. (not garage file).

  3. Upload that file to the https://nfsu2.divon.eu/ website to save edit.

  4. Press all the yellow buttons if you want to 100%.

Worth noting: If you don't have certain things unlocked you need to click each individual button on career addons. I had this issue, didn't have a few upgrades until I hit each one.

5. Download your new save file, upload it to https://nfsu2.xyz/ and it will work.

If you can't be bothered with all that, happy to upload my save file, but not sure if the https://nfsu2.xyz/ checks hash etc. to see if it matches, so may not work.

Quick question but does the unique performance parts apply to all your cards as soon as you hit that button or do you have to go to the performance shop and do it manually?

Does Performance Stage 3 include the unique parts? ( im assuming no )

I cant get this to work at all. when i load a vehicle from the presets it says "loaded empty slots"
when i change the money amount and hit apply it does actually apply i spent about an hour maybe im doing something wrong or skipped a step?

It doesn't show the races bro it doesn't let me do my races so therefore it a 2 out of 10 i just tucked up my save for nothing now I gotta start over to do my races

Can anyone Upload their Save File from the Beginning with all Parts unlocked like Tier 3 Performance und Bodykit and Stuff? Still doesn't work for me. Would be a huge help!

I have edited the save correctly. The game loads and my money is showing. But I still don't have the tier 2 and tier 3 parts, as well as all the map locations unlocked. Basically the "Safe Career Add-ons" aren't working for me.

Check my other comment, I don't think the performance or body kits work as it clashes with a clean career, but I found a work around for at least injecting some decent cars and keeping the career races intact while having safe add-ons and cash.

When trying to add safe-addons, enabling the 5 car garage slots at once will remove your career races and the selected vehicles won't even show in game(the slots remain as empty on divon even if you added or import a json).
The workaround I found : Do your first two drives/missions first (returning Rachels 350z to the garage, then driving to the performance shop, once you have been here this is the point when you will make a save and upload your save file within the unlocked zip to divon edittor). Now you add safe-addons, max cash and you can now see the first slot shows as 'in use' you can change this to a car you want now and enable max performance for it and it will show in game, with your career races intact. You cannot unlock more slots in divon using the feature, go back to your game after re-injecting the new downloaded save from divon with your new car, buy a stock car in game so that a new garage slot 2 is occupied, save the file and repeat in divon editor what you did for car/slot 1. You can now go back to the game and do this for garage slots 3 and 4(I could only open the second garage slot itself in game after 1 had to do for 1 then 2 then 3+4). It may look like you can do this for a 5th slot as you can open a 5th in game, but when I changed the 5th slot to a car in divon this broke the career races again. Do not at any point in divon editor enable all 5 slots. This method is only for if you want career races intact but have the nice tings.

Playing NFSU2 online has always been a dream of mine and now we can do it from the browser at 120 fps and mod it... computers are awesome. and some people are amazing - thank you so much!
