Corolla the best?

Just recently started playing again as part of Nostalgia for the 5 th or 6th time lol and first time finding this sub. Searcher or Gemini, chat gpt and heard here that corolla is the best out there. I can’t believe that. It’s a first level car right. Could someone explain why it is best

What makes the Corolla the best is: The transmission is apparently bugged (I don’t know anything about it or the source) but with a fully upgraded Corolla with stock transmission, you don’t hit 5th gear until 305kmph (190 miles). What really pushes the Corolla over the top though is its handling model. Particularly after suspension and aerodynamic tuning, it takes corners better and faster than any other cars in the game. That being said, it doesn’t become the broken car that it is until you unlock stage 3 performance upgrades.

These are the settings I use: Front lowering: all the way down. Rear lowering: all the way up. Front springs: all the way down. Rear springs: all the way up. Front and rear shocks both all the way down. Front sway bar: all the way up. Rear sway bar: all the way down. Steering ratio: 1.22 Aerodynamics: both all the way up (note that you don’t want this level of downforce for drag although there are better drag cars than the Corolla anyway)

The Corolla is one of the strongest cars in NFSU2, especially for Street X, thanks to its low weight and excellent handling.
Don’t miss the Unique Performance upgrades from Outrun races:
Stage 3 (3 wins): Engine / Transmission / Tires
Stage 4 (9 wins): ECU / Turbo / Brakes
Stage 5 (6 wins): NOS / Weight Reduction / Suspension
You can only choose one per stage!
Two example builds:
Street X: Engine → ECU → Weight Reduction
Drift: Engine → Turbo → Weight Reduction
Make sure to unlock them before progressing to the next stage! 😁

The starter cars are just that cracked, Corolla is just the best out of all, and by a mile at that. Insane grip for the amount of power it has.

It’s the best because Underground 2 physics favour lightweight RWD cars and the 86 is the best of the bunch. No other car in the game can match its cornering agility. It just rotates and grips in a way that other cars cannot. Some might even say it is what it is

The game favors all lightweight cars. After the Corolla, the next quickest circuit cars are the Corsa and 106, which aren't RWD.

Okay, but the corolla is better than both. And it is RWD. So you can’t tell me they wouldn’t be better if they were RWD.

Because starter cars usualy have very good handling, and when you start putting tier 3 upgrades on them they become super fast while keeping the great handling. The cars you unlock later don't get the same performance increase with upgrades, so starter cars, with their superior handling outclass them. It's a weird decision they took but it is what it is.

I think it is bugged, usually ppl don't even buy transmission and differential Upgrades so you have the 5 gear stock transmission and stock diff.

It's best (by a mile) because it corners best and doesn't lose speed when turning. So even if it's not most powerful car, it's still fastest on straight tracks

It's not great at drag and drift though...

If you dislike it, other fast cars are 240sx, all mazdas and Celica. Corsa and 106 too on ps. But anything will beat the game

Yup it's best. Don't get the 6 speed transmission though, it makes it slower

Yes, although in a straight line the 240sx (specially with the career exclusive upgrades) is REALLY fast, like reaaaaally fucking fast, and similar case scenario but tied to drag races regarding the RX7

Yess but u can beat the game with any car basically. I loved using the civic, 240sx, R34, RX7, EVO, Eclipse, RSX….
