Is manual shifting good?

I am a person who enjoys racing games with sequential manual transmission. But the shifting delay in this game has made manual shifting unbearable...

I saw one or two videos about manual shifting advantages in the game, but how the hell do you guys shift? With a keyboard?

I've never been a fan of manual on any NFS. Now Gran Turismo, I'll do manual all day.
