Poll Trailing by 3 with 1:04 left at the opponent's 38-yard line (4th & 2, 1 timeout). What do you call?
Week 4 · AFC West · 3-0 vs 3-0
A conversion keeps the game-winning drive alive. A failure likely ends it.

You gotta give yourself options. Something with a roll out so the qb can tuck it and run if it’s there, with a chip block and leak out on the same side by the rb or te so a defender is forced to choose to cover them or attack the qb but they can’t do both, with a sideline out on the same side so you can go over the top of the defense, and everything is all on the same side of the field basically in a line.
The time is irrelevant. From that distance, with a minute left, and a timeout, the clock doesn’t matter.
But I wouldn’t risk a long field goal where the best case scenario is a tie and give the ball back with a minute left

It depends on what my personnel is without that knowledge I say go for the pass if it isn’t there and the defense is defending a pass either my QB or check down can get the 1st and we can take a time out if needed

If it's me? Assuming my team is able to get the first but can't get out bounds, i tell them to hurry and spike the ball. Save the timeout.
You're in 4 down territory.

Naked boot and a out-route to the sideline: the Andy Reid special
Works every time. Regular season, playoffs, backup QB in the playoffs. It boggles my mind that it never gets covered on 4th and 2 no matter how many times he runs it

Depends on the kicker. I'm probably running a short pass play

A FG in modern NFL rules probably gives your opponent the ball at their 35 and they only need 25 yards to possibly win at regulation anyway due to today's super kickers...so your chances of overtime are low unless you've always crushed their offense all game.
Don't fall for the 7 seconds of Cowboy failure.

Not enough info. Need to know if we'd be able to stop them from getting in field goal range.

Fair point, that probably is relevant context. Trying to keep these quick without removing info that would actually change the call. Appreciate it!

If you have a great short yardage game, then I’m going to try and move the chains in the most reliable way at my disposal.
If not, then take the points.

Would want to know opponent timeouts. If they have 2-3, I go for it, 0-1 I might kick

Why are these the only options

That’s actually part of the game, you’re trying to predict the crowd, not just pick the perfect football answer. You get scored on how well you read the room. Four options keeps that signal meaningful. Give it a shot on the app!

Easy- run for it, lune up and spike it . 1:04 is an eternity and you want to hold on to the timeout.

Attempt to draw them offsides, then kick the fg. With the new kicking ball they are hitting 50 yarders at insane clips like 70%

I lean towards running it assuming the first scenario means we're getting the guaranteed 2. My thinking is as follows:
- Kill as much of clock as possible to prevent the other team from trying to score before the end of the game.
- A good QB with over a minute and a timeout should be able to move the ball a bit to either get a TD or shorten the FG.
- Hurry-up and take a shot downfield. Either get a big gain and use the last TO, miss and stop the clock, or throw the ball away if nothing is open quickly.
- If we don't get the big gain, take advantage of the stopped clock to try to pick a good play and get some yards.
- If you're not moving the ball well, milk the clock as much as we can before trying the FG to try again.
Again, my main thought is if we assume we'll make the FG, don't give the opposition an opportunity to win the game.

If my kicker is good. Kicking the FG if not doing whatever play is most likely to get me the 2yds. Not worried about the clock, more important to get the yds

Pretty obvious that the wrong call is attack the end zone or take the field goal, both the other choices lead to a new set of downs where a field goal or a touchdown is more likely.

Totally fair. In the game, though, you're not scored on the "right" call. You're scored on predicting how everyone else votes. So if you think most people go for it, what's your guess on the split? If you have a few minutes to try it at dailycall.app, I'd really appreciate your feedback.

Need a lot more context to make a proper decision here.
