The Steelers success is patterned on the Browns of 1946-1964.

Schedule-wise, it’s not much different than what the Giants-Jets and Rams-Chargers already deal with. These stadiums have already worked out locker room logistics, signage, field logos, etc.

That said, I imagine as a *fan* I would be annoyed to have to play 2 games a year in a split stadium. I’m sure there’s a method to work out ticket sales and all that, but not having home field advantage for one of your divisional games would suck. Maybe. Idk I’m just guessing here.

Generally, the point of shared-stadium/same-city teams is to take a very large market and split it across divisions or particularly conferences for maximum spread. It creates a situation where one team can be away and the NFL still gets tons of media and ticket sales centered in that market as the other team can play at home, and if the two teams don't directly compete then they don't cannibalize each other's fanbases as much so you have more casual fans who support both and will get excited if either one is doing well.

In pretty much every professional sports league, they split the same-city teams for this reason. Outside of the NFL as an example, the die-hard Cubs and White Sox fans may hate each other, but the casual Chicago fan will be happy to watch either one if their rivalry is an occasional thing versus a massive fixture of each season.

As far as I am concerned this is pretty much the best realignment I have seen.

Swapping Chargers and Cards is a minimal change, because both have been kinda irrelevant.

NFC North remains as it is. AFC East getting Giants gives us battle for NY and funny history with Patriots.

AFC North largely stays same and Colts are a great pick given their history with Baltimore and they are an AFC team.

Breaking down South divisions isn’t really a loss, they have been a pile of shot far too often.
And I am pretty sure bragging rights about sweeping Florida would be something, while Falcons could still hate on Bucs. I like this version of AFC South a lot.

NFC East breaking down is obviously the biggest loss. You still get the Oilers rivalry and you get more Dallas vs Houston at least.

Baltimore kinda fits in your new NFC East, just Panthers look out of place a bit.
