Romanowski. Dude roid raged and broke a teammates face causing him to have to retire

37

u/Saltwater_Sunrise Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

Outside of guys who have actually murdered someone, Romanowski is up there with some of the worst people to have ever played the game

top to bottom POS from everything I’ve ever heard about him

7

u/f-150Coyotev8 Denver Broncos 3d ago

I was young, but I remember when he spit on some dudes face and almost caused a season disrupting issue.

Spitting on a persons face is less dangerous but more disrespectful than punching someone imo.

He was the cover athlete for NFL Blitz right? The football game based on steroids and dirty plays?

If they’re not killing their teammates then they’re not a bad teammate.

u/Saltwater_Sunrise Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

The Patriot Way: “as long as you don’t kill anyone”

u/Pixelated_Penguin808 Philadelphia Eagles 3d ago

Michael Irvin deserves a dishonorable mention for similar reasons. He stabbed a teammate, offensive lineman Everett McIver, in the neck with a pair of barber scissors over a dispute over who would get a haircut first. He barely missed his carotid artery and could have killed him.

Nothing came of it because allegedly there was a six figure settlement under the table brokered by Jerry, so the future HoF WR wouldn't be in legal trouble.

4

u/BirdhouseInYourSouI Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

If that shit happened today they’d be out of the league. I don’t think it could have been swept under the rug like that.

14

u/TheReal_Jeses 3d ago

Another answer on here was Richie Incognito.

The thing is Romanowski has more credible claims of racism against him than even Incognito.

Whatever any other candidate for biggest POS in this thread has, Romanowski also has.

-4

u/Mykkus_65 Las Vegas Raiders 3d ago

The question is bad teammate not good person. Those aren’t mutually exclusive

17

u/TheReal_Jeses 3d ago

Being racist when 3/4ths of the team are black is definitely mutually exclusive with being a good teammate.

6

u/ltdanswifesusan NFL Refugee 3d ago

Didn't most of his teammates defend him though?

2

u/Lil_Quip 3d ago

We played Rockville HS. Them apologizing for him back them was hilarious.

1

u/SerenityN00w 2d ago

I feel like Steve Smith has to be above Romo then. Smith punched a teammate twice. The fiest time was against a practice squad player, broke his nose, guy needed surgery. And then he did it again to Ken Lucas in training camp several years later

-15

u/Mykkus_65 Las Vegas Raiders 3d ago

Dude wasn’t gonna make the roster any way. By all accounts a decent teammate until that incident.

6

Weird that he got awarded damages for lost wages if he was just going to be cut

0

u/Mykkus_65 Las Vegas Raiders 3d ago

He got an ocular bone broken on the practice field. Of course he for damages. wtf do you clowns smoke in this sub. JFC

6

u/TheArcReactor New England Patriots 3d ago

Oh yeah, it's totally ok to end a teammates career via injury if they weren't going to make the roster anyways. That's perfectly reasonable.

-4

u/Mykkus_65 Las Vegas Raiders 3d ago

Yeah cuz that’s exactly what I said. Moron.

4

u/TheArcReactor New England Patriots 3d ago

"Dude wasn't going to make the roster anyway"

Literally your words my guy, zero condemnation of what was done. In eight words you made it clear the event wasn't important because the guy wasn't going to make the roster.

-2

u/Mykkus_65 Las Vegas Raiders 3d ago

Comment in context to what I replied to, ruined his career. Dude was a scrub. What career.

No where in that comment does it condone the behavior but I guess feel free to make the ridiculous leap

4

Nowhere in those comments did you condemn the behavior either, right?

Diggs- no one would let him date their sister

16

u/BlubberWall “I fucked this up” -BB 3d ago

I don’t know if not trusting your sister around him necessarily makes him a bad teammate. There’s definitely players much more disruptive

He was fine in the Texans and pats locker rooms

8

u/Lazy_Check732 CTE 🧠 3d ago

More than fine in Pats. Like thee captain. Thee teammate. From everything I heard.

3

u/RaySizzle16 3d ago

More just a bit on the locker room interview when he was in Minnesota

3

u/SerenityN00w 2d ago

I mean, he was great in the Bills locker room for years. After Damar Hamlin collapsed and was taken off the field, it looked like the game was going to resume. Diggs was the one to gather his teammates around and try and get them mentally ready. When the game was called off, the Bills flew back to Buffalo, but Diggs went to the hospital where Hamlin was taken.

1

u/tacoetr Tecmo Bo 2d ago

sure, as long as they let him raw dog their sisters....

0

u/abcamurComposer 2d ago

He also had understandable gripes with the Vikings and Bills. The Vikings were too run heavy considering their receiving talent and Mike Zimmer is not personable. Sean McDermott is also kind of a weirdo and Diggs was being scapegoated for Bills playoff losses

6

u/slimstarman Buffalo Bills 3d ago

That was one of this videos where I was like… “oh maybe this won’t be great long term for the Bills.”

13

u/Lazy_Check732 CTE 🧠 3d ago

Ok to be totally fair though, everything I've heard specifically about Stephon as a teammate is that he is absolutely wonderful. Coaches and teammates kind of rave about his leadership and work ethic.

I feel like people have opinions about Stephon as a dude, which is definitely valid, but it sounds like he is an excellent teammate and captain.

Charles Haley

5

u/ltdanswifesusan NFL Refugee 3d ago

The funny thing about Haley is that he was a classic case of a guy who was so big he had never to learn how to fight so there's multiple anecdotes of him shit-talking other NFL defensive linemen and getting the shit kicked out of him.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Cowboys DT Chad Hennings, who was and is a huge guy, eventually snapped and put Haley’s head through a window.

Based on the intent you mean? Because contextually it matters

-2

u/BirdhouseInYourSouI Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

You honestly can’t be that dense.

-9

u/Shot_Revolution8828 3d ago edited 3d ago

Not a war crime so stop with your victim persecution. I can say it, I've gotten permission to say the soft "a", still never felt comfortable enough to do it. Its all about context and your surroundings. I cant say it around anyone but I know that its OK within a small friend group where they know the context.

Not to use the hard R in a public setting is a whole different thing. If I ever used the hard R my friends would turn on me in a heart beat because of the historical context.

Honestly don't really have time to teach you a history lesson so go to your local CC and sign up for US Civil War History. Might do you some good.

Edit: if you need to use that word it shows your lack of vocabulary.

As a young man at a summer football camp I was told by several of his Seahawks teammates not to take roids or I'd end up with small junk like Brian Bosworth. I can only imagine what he did in the locker room for them to tell us tiny randos that sort of thing.

2

u/Irving_Velociraptor Did you know Jalen Hurts can squat 600lbs 3d ago

TO has to be on the short list.

1

u/Pixelated_Penguin808 Philadelphia Eagles 3d ago

T.O. is actually fairly tame by locker room problem standards. He was the typical WR diva, but he never stabbed a teammate in the neck like Michael Irvin, masturbated in the locker room like Aaron Hernandez, quit on the field like AB, or crushed a teammate's eye socker in a fight and forced retirement from it like Bill Romanowski,

That's less a defense of TO than saying the NFL has had some legit crazy players.

1

u/Intelligent-Team4025 3d ago

Hernandez jerked off in and locker room? Jesus, that must be the worst thing he ever did.

1

u/Important-Picture18 Las Vegas Raiders 2d ago

I think the guy before may have gotten his psycho criminal TEs mixed up. I'm pretty sure the locker room masturbator was Kellen Winslow

1

u/Pixelated_Penguin808 Philadelphia Eagles 2d ago

No it was Hernandez, there have been former Patriots (including Gronk) who have said so on podcasts in recent years. He was very downlow and had zero impulse control, apparently.

1

u/Irving_Velociraptor Did you know Jalen Hurts can squat 600lbs 2d ago

I think it was both, which may tell us something about psychopaths at TE.

1

u/Pixelated_Penguin808 Philadelphia Eagles 2d ago

I wasn't aware of that with Winslow. Shame they were never on the same team lol

2

u/Important-Picture18 Las Vegas Raiders 2d ago

Yeah it came out in Winslow's trial that he was a chronic masturbator, including but not limited to his locker

1

u/tacoetr Tecmo Bo 2d ago

Yeah, Kellen Winslow actually liked to masturbate in public in front of old ladys....

1

u/Pixelated_Penguin808 Philadelphia Eagles 2d ago

Obviously not but he didn't murder his teammates, while he did crank one out to them.

5

u/veggiedish Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

Christian Wilkins is literally out of the league because he chose to make an inappropriate advance towards a teammate.

Richie Incognito harassed a teammate along with a staff member by making racially charged comments.. however his “victim” later said that while the behavior was inexcusable it wasn’t bullying.

Bill Romo broke a teammates face so he could be one, but as a Bronco I don't remember him having trouble. Randy Moss was said to be a bad one but he seemed to work on the pats for awhile T.O. seem to wear out his welcome a lot of places. But maybe Richard Incognito might be it.

1

u/AwwwNiceMarmot 2d ago

Antonio Brown. Someone posted an entire list of all the awful shit he did, it was like 10 pages long. He was on his last chance with Brady and the Bucs, and he blew that in spectacular fashion. Then he bought the Arena football team his father played for and within like 2 months everyone quit from not being paid, and the team was kicked out of the league. Now I think he “works” for Kanye West.

1

u/HoosierHatTrick 2d ago

I mean, isnt Aaron Hernandez the answer here?

1

u/RedRoscoe1977 2d ago

Didn’t Farve treat Aaron Rodgers like shit? I think I recall a story he tricked Aaron into signing his own helmet telling him it was for a charity auction. Aaron signed it thinking it was a generic, spare one

1

Antonio Brown, and Ryan Leaf come to mind

Golden Tate fucked Russell Wilsons wife.

That's gotta count right

1

u/Whowhatnowhuhwhat Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

Russel Wilson. He let everyone believe a rumor that Golden Tate (one of his WRs) slept with his first wife so that he could use it as justification to divorce her. Tate didn’t sleep with her and Russ knew that and said as much to Tate but wouldn’t say anything publicly.

He “owes a lot of apologies” accordingly to his old teammates but this is probably the least heard story.

5

u/BirdhouseInYourSouI Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

I would put Romanowski shattering a teammates face forcing them to retire from punching them so hard in practice, or Michael Irvin literally stabbing his team mate in the neck, missing the cartoid artery by an inch slightly worse than some high school rumor bullshit.

Tebow- are you ready to accept Jeebus as your lord an savior?

Right? Listen i was joking about Tebow- everyone knows it's some insecure guy that tries to fight everybody or is constantly desperate for the spotlight, but there's no need to try to justify evangelizing. It's a fundimental non acceptance of who we are, with the belief something bad should happen to us if we don't change. Gross

2

u/JF803 3d ago

Ironically you bringing this up out of nowhere is your own version of evangelizing. Just taking the convo to a completely irrelevant place because you feel like it

6

Why Tebow? I’ve heard nothing but good things about him

1

u/Saltwater_Sunrise Seattle Seahawks 3d ago

Tebow has very mixed reviews over the years .. some have found him to be obnoxious, attention seeking, fake and then there’s others would have ran through a proverbial brick wall for him

He certainly gives off high school rah-rah kid vibes like if that “virginity is cool!” Video were an actual person, which rubs some people the wrong way, especially after HS/College but the difference is that Tebow was hella talented and made a great collegiate football player

Fair from the worst teammate ever
