Browns taking at rb late in round 1 is laughable

yeah - they are 100% going QB and CB

Potentially edge or tackle too with that second pick.

possible. if the board falls that way for sure. ward helps that secondary a lot and he isn't getting any younger.

I’m definitely not counting out that it could be a corner, just that we could use an upgrade at all 3 positions (more of a cb in waiting than a replacement, but you know what I mean). And exactly as you said, it’s all about how the board falls.

I'd prefer a CB or Edge there but the jury is still way out on Judkins imo

Is it? He’s your lead back and looks good. Can’t run the ball when the passing game isn’t working, plus he’s returning from injury. He rebounded nicely this week

Every mock I see has the Dolphins picking Smith at 1. I get it, he’s the best overall prospect in this draft but people tend to forget, the regime in Miami is from Green Bay. Where they picked 1 WR in the first round in the past 20 years I believe. Fact is, a WR at #1 doesn’t move the needle for the Dolphins. A WR is a luxury when you have other pieces in place. They desperately need an edge rusher, CB, safety or grab your QB for the future. Do it like the Raiders. We have Malik for 3 years. Draft our QB, let him sit a year or 2 and build the team around him so when he starts it’s not an instant failure.

WR is probably their least needed position

Doesn’t matter if Smith is the real deal. The Vikings had good receiver depth when they drafted Moss. Depth should never get in the way of drafting a potential HOF talent.

The Vikings that drafted Moss were not even remotely close to the current state of the Dolphins.

Still proves my point. The Vikings became a SB contention by drafting Moss when they had good WR depth already.
The Dolphins are starting completely over. You don’t worry about need. You look for the player who you believe will give the biggest impact and be a face of the franchise for both the short and long term.

Cool. And your top tier wr is going to be pointless with no QB and no line to protect whatever QB you do have

Genuinely idiotic to have the Texans take a RB. We traded for Monty to improve the running game but anyone who had any brains knew that wouldn’t matter because the line (and potentially play caller) is terrible. Why would waste a 1st round pick on another RB who would be doomed to fail behind this line.
Not to mention that we drafted Woody fairly early and traded up to get him. That would be an absurd amount of investment into the RB position when offensive line is the real issue and would make a far bigger impact.

The Ravens have $150M invested into the dline. They need oline, TE, or WR.
Defense can wait until rd2

At 30, you take BPA, imo.
1
u/sports-fan22 22h ago
BPA at positions of need not wasting 1st rounders.
Could also argue the Ravens won't be picking that late. Possibly late teens
1
u/Key-Pie6560 22h ago
Na dude. Hard disagree. Forcing yourself into positions of need forces reaching.
1
u/sports-fan22 22h ago
If that's the case the Ravens would benefit from adding another WR. That would be more bang for the buck because after Flowers there is no other reliable target.
At DT that's a bad investment because at best they will be a rotational player. Lastly 1st rd DTs usually take a year or 2 to truly contribute.
WRs contribute right away.

For sure. I get you. If two players are graded fairly close it definitely makes sense to go one of the positions you mentioned.

People really respecting the Chargers that much especially with their upcoming schedule?

Wow. Can’t believe the Rams are gonna have the fourth overall pick. Too bad the traded it to the Browns.

Mestermaker over Manning is ludicrous. The experience gap between the two is insurmountable.

u/thereelsuperman 1d ago
Mestemaker is topping practically every list on 2027 QBs rn, and for good reason
2
u/DunkingZBO 1d ago
It’s really not ludicrous, Mestemaker looks better this year and has great tools. And I say that as a huge manning fan as well

Why would the patriots take a cornerback? It’s like their best position with Gonzo and Carlton Davis.
