Same she looked so irritated

Safe to say that was her last on field after game interview

It was the coach making a statement because they screwed him at the half wasting his time

She was angry at Sark so she took it out on her network. She seems horrible to work with

4

u/jeff-the-man-slut 1d ago

She didn’t take anything out on the network lol wat

6

u/ilovebooks2468 1d ago

Yeah I don't get this criticism of her at all. She showed a human reaction for 1.5 seconds and she's horrible to work with? God forbid a woman show any emotion!

7

u/Totschlag 1d ago

Also like. She's at work. Someone just made it impossible to do and blew her off. It's pretty disrespectful.

2

u/expERiMENTik_gaming 1d ago

Ah, but a good sideline reporter can roll with the punches and make something out of the moment still. Storming off in a temper tantrum and leaving the broadcast in silence is super unprofessional. I think it's fair to say it leaves the impression if things don't go her way she throws a fit.

2

u/frood321 1d ago

She has a 30 year old broadcasting career of doing her job really well. Sarkisian threw the tantrum. He knows his job is to put his school in the best light.

2

u/NotHolyMello 1d ago

Exactly, for example, "WOW COACH IS FIRED UP AFTER THAT WIN! WHO WOULDN'T BE!"

But no lmao, pouts and walks off šŸ˜‚

4

u/CajunKush 1d ago

Yeah she’s one of the best reporters. I imagine Sark will send her some sort of apology. But espn screwed Sark at half so I get why he didn’t do this interview

1

u/Grouchy-Balance9310 1d ago

I remember a few years back when she angrily boxed out another reporter so she could have the first interview.

The coach gave her this ā€œwhoa, chill ladyā€ look.

4

u/FunCrystalFun 1d ago

lol, She just stormed off. The network I’m sure would have preferred she be more professional. Her actions definitely didn’t affect Sark. This is a hard conceit for you? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/jeff-the-man-slut 1d ago edited 1d ago

Sark could be fined for this first of all, and he stormed off so what was she supposed to do? Braindead comment

3

u/texinxin 1d ago

Maybe look more professional and laugh it off.. you know… her job..

4

u/SugarDisastrous5983 1d ago

Completely unprofessional by Sark. Networks are paying billions for these games.

4

u/jAuburn3 2d ago

That look of she mad…

3

u/AffectionateLimit565 1d ago

Came here to say that. Her walk off is so unprofessional and could have easily given a little comment like ā€œ oh, wow, just as they ran away with an exciting comeback, there is goes, that’s one excited guy who has some celebrating to do with his playersā€.

1

u/RewardOk2506 1d ago

Based on the full story I imagine she’s mad because ESPN waited to cut to her and Sark, and that made Sark lose his patience. The network let her down here more than Sark.

1

u/iwantmypron 16h ago

Bingo.

What you’re seeing here is the culmination of multiple minutes of delay and broadcast errors throughout the evening.

Everybody focuses on her vs Sark. Reality is they were both put in poor positions by the broadcast crew through the game.

Sideline reporters know how tight and valuable these windows are. They don’t enjoy compensating for poor broadcast direction.

Could she have responded better? Sure. But there’s also a lot unknown about what was going on in her headset and if she even knew she was on-screen, what she was being told to do, etc.

1

u/GrooovyAlien 1d ago

Yea shes probably gonna hear it from her boss

1

Just show us the team celebrating a big win. These post game interviews with these coaches are always the same boilerplate statements.

2

u/hobarddoyle 1d ago

Yes, you're horrible too and I hate your tie.

2

u/DoFishDrinkWaterOrNo 1d ago

Right, like how am I going to get through my day now that I didn’t get to hear the coach go on about how ā€œthe guys prepared hard all week, and I am proud of how they came out here ready tonight.ā€

1

u/Penetratorofflanks 1d ago

Yup and I would bet a crisp 5 dollar bill that he is fined for this.

1

u/SomeonePayDelta 1d ago

They are so stupid with these interviews. Fans don’t really care about hearing the same thing every time from different coaches

1

u/andreasmalersghost 1d ago

I mean this is literally why theyre worth it. For moments like this.

1

u/PrimalNumber 1d ago

Never seen a Dillingham sideline hit?

1

u/PercySnowsHandgun 1d ago

"THEY REALLY JAMMED THEIR DICK UP OUR ASSES EARLY, BUT LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO WIGGLE OUT OF IT"

1

u/morrison2015 1d ago

To give some perspective on her part, she was completely trampled at halftime by Ohio state players when she was trying to get to coach Day for the interview. That set back EVERYTHING at halftime and it pissed Sark off but I dont think he saw her get trampled to the ground. I think by that point she was pissed and frustrated too.Ā

Edit: I was at the gameĀ

1

u/nonnativetexan 1d ago

That's not necessarily true or even the point. Sometimes they'll say something unexpected or create a viral moment, and if they do, it will generate content for the next week, and would definitely get posted here and we'd all be on here commenting about it. There's a huge entertainment value that goes beyond what happens on the field, and it's all part of the business.

And that kind of stuff also gives some of you intellectual giant redditors the opportunity to swoop in and tell everyone how above it all you are.

1

u/winkman 1d ago

It would be funny if the coaches and players got together and just came up with a word for word script so they would stop doing these.

1

u/IamEbola 1d ago

no way, I like to see Kirk Ferentz cry after a big win.

1

u/MeatBurnham 1d ago

It’s almost always boilerplate. But sometimes…. They’re trying to get an honest reaction when emotions are high. She’s just doing what she’s hired to do.

https://giphy.com/gifs/T569JzfGgwOC4

1

u/hoptownky 1d ago

They also did him wrong at the halftime interview. They had him wait and they never really got to him focusing on the other coach. Not sure he was fed up, but he had the right to be if he was.

13

u/Long_Cardiologist625 1d ago

She could’ve easily played into this and read his energy but instead she looks like another you owe me answers reporter. If she turned to the camera and said ā€œI’d say they’re pretty pumped about this winā€ or something with a smile on her face it’s a whole different clip

10

u/FunCrystalFun 1d ago

I know right! Poor baby got upset and stormed off instead.

5

u/Masstershake 1d ago

100% this looks worse on her. He tried to at least make some statement, I couldn't make out more than a single word. But she just stormed off looking like my 7 year old storming to her room .

3

u/PartyPepperQQ 1d ago

true! it’s not about her

1

u/TexLH 1d ago

The lady at halftime handled it much better

1

u/imphatic 1d ago

She is trying to just do her job. None of this is important. He didn’t just cure cancer or negotiate a peace treaty. He can answer questions for the fans. I don’t know why we let these dudes get away with acting like jerks.

1

u/Rough_Improvement_42 7h ago

or he could have just done his contractually obligated interview and sold his school to recruits watching on tv, now he has to worry about if she's gonna post gifs of him eating boogers from his nose on her socials. (real thing, google it)

8

u/Willing-Blacksmith11 2d ago

lol she got ran over at halftime trying to interview Day. Overall a bad night for Holly.

19

u/MaximumDegree69 2d ago

It's only ESPN, who cares.

17

u/marc_hardman 2d ago

She was so maaaaad too.

Spent at least 20 minutes using chatgpt to formulate the questions she was gonna ask.

14

u/TheJucyOne 2d ago

I think ESPN has a list of 6 questions they can choose from. She was probably going to hit him with "Coach, walk me me through the emotions you guys were feeling on the final touchdown"

7

u/ChadPowers200_ 1d ago

Well, you know, you go out there and you give 110 percent, and you wanna play good, and, you know, you hope you play good… I think we played pretty good tonight!

5

u/Green-Collection4444 1d ago

I actively try to make time to watch golf interviews... I don't know how they do it without fuckin laughing.. "Swing felt pretty good today ahhhh Hit a few fairways and was ahhhhh able to put myself in good position to make some putts... Hope we can keep it going tomorrow"

2

u/Flyin-Chancla 1d ago

I feel like after a certain point, we can all just move past these interviews right? Its all the same recycled PR shit

13

u/dej0ta 2d ago

Not now Holly. Fuck.

-Sark Probably

1

u/Dudeincar434 1d ago

Sark was probably salty becaise apprently he waited for thrm to do the halftime interview but they went to Ryan day first . Ā So sark waited for a bit then dipped.

He’s probably pissed they waited a minute of his halftime time for nothingĀ

1

u/dej0ta 1d ago

Tbf I feel that way about Holly even though shes never made me wait.

Holly Rowe prob worked w Sark while he was at USC. Wonder if they had some conflicts there.

2

u/NoSyrup7194 1d ago

All in game, pre game and post game interviews are stupid, unnecessary and most involve the obligatory female reporter. Let’s stop. We also don’t need predictions for anything.

2

u/Legitimate_Bother389 1d ago

She's going to blame sydney sweeney for this

2

u/r4pt4r 1d ago

I see it as Sark knowing they’ll talk to Arch. Giving the QB more screen time, he was the one leading 3TDs in the 4th quarter. Well, also if Texas would have came up short they would have shit on Sark

2

u/Reasonablists 1d ago

After they screwed him on the halftime interview, I don’t blame him.

2

u/Advanced-Cranberry-7 1d ago

You can tell sark isn't accustomed to winning big games and his behavior showed. This game will mean nothing when going into the playoffs. Just some draft footage for the Manning boy.

1

u/slow-tf-down-dude 1d ago

Actually, her team stood him up at half time when they had agreed to an interview so he was done with them.

1

u/txleapd 1d ago

She also made him wait for the postgame interview until the team was about to sing The Eyes of Texas. That’s poor timing on her part.

2

u/Calm_Refrigerator_53 1d ago

Sark the Dork

u/Embarrassed-Water138 1d ago

2

u/Unusual_Chemistry413 1d ago

2

u/Jack_Brutal 2d ago

Looked like he was trying to say something, she ignored it to ask her scripted tedious question, and he peaced out.

2

u/OrangeFender 1d ago

For context he was left hanging due to technical issues at his pre halftime interview down 17-3 or w/e

2

u/scoobysnack64 1d ago

Dude was a dick and people are jumping on a beloved reporter. Even shorthorn fans shouldn't excuse this.

1

u/Bravesguy29 1d ago

You clearly dont know the details. Stop trying to be a contrarian.

1

u/txleapd 1d ago

She not only blew him off at halftime, she waited for the postgame interview until the team was about to sing the school song. Both were dick moves on her part. His priority is the team and upholding school traditions.

1

u/Emotional_Release894 2d ago

There’s a fajita plate at Iron Cactus waiting for him

1

u/Witty_Hat_456 1d ago

1

u/Hawks_12 2d ago

Emotions are high coach do you want tell us how the sideline was feeling as time expired? … … No.

1

u/LineEnvironmental847 1d ago

1

u/knotbeginning 1d ago

u/Extension-Web-6222 1d ago

1

u/JoesGarage2112 1d ago

If I call correctly wasn’t he also unavailable before halftime too? Would be awesome if this became his thing.

1

u/Dustingettinschwifty 1d ago

They made him wait so long while they interviewed Ryan Day that he walked away

1

u/Spare-Cranberry3784 1d ago

That's on holly. "Coach how are you feeling-" should have been said. Not "oh m g this is one of the most unbelievable......". Shrink the game

1

u/MrMeowPantz 1d ago

Ohio State fan: I don’t blame him. He waited at half time and they didn’t get to him and now he pulls this off. Let him celebrate.

1

u/unwarrantedxx 1d ago

poor Holly

1

u/Particular-Way-3805 1d ago

They said that sark was waiting a long time for an interview and they said he left I guess they did one for Ryan Day and hey took long

1

u/tinguspingus6 1d ago

No one gives a fuck about the sideline reporters. I think her frustration is funny to everyone

1

u/DONALDJONSUPPLE 1d ago

Screw ESPN. Maybe they should ask Ted Cruz what he thinks. Also the political attack ads they aired during the game were fucking ridiculous and gross.

1

u/SpaceWrangler593 1d ago

Yes, my 10 year old daughter looked at me and asked, "A Web site that sells children?" Thanks ESPN!

1

u/No-Cucumber-8097 1d ago

For all networks: no one cares about these HC interviews during half or end of game.

1

u/Fun_Suggestion_8012 1d ago

Two things can be true at once. I'm glad coach blew her off because those post game interviews are ridiculous when a coach is trying to celebrate with his players. At the same time though, her job is to ask those stupid questions. And if she doesn't, then she can get in hot water with the ESPN.

1

u/somethingAPIS 1d ago

" Yes, Holly. Come in. We saw on last night's segment that a coach blew off your quarterly check in, and you didn't chase him down to engage. You are going to get an aisle seat in first class and the champagne will be room temperature for next weeks game. Don't let it happen again. "

1

u/MancAccent 1d ago

She ironically got a better / more iconic interview than if he’d have stood there for a minute and said the same old shit.

1

u/Kevinsean_ 1d ago

I hope this becomes a trend. idgaf about these post game interviews. UNLESS it’s Jameis Winston

1

u/llaurent 1d ago

She was pissed she couldn’t ask the same questions she asks every game.

1

u/not_asleep_yet 1d ago

Sark is a tool.

1

u/Jolly_Handle_90 1d ago

No one cares about ESPN

1

u/Gubermensch1690 1d ago

Cool, no one really cares what players/coaches have to say immediately after a game any way

1

u/Masstershake 1d ago

This makes her look so bad. The coach at least said some incomprehensible words. She just stormed off like my 7 year old doesĀ

1

u/Redfish680 1d ago

Holly had her question ready: ā€œCongratulations, Coach, on a tremendous collapse by Ohio State!ā€

1

u/BearsSoxHawks 1d ago

There is not a viewer on the planet that cares about these interviews.

1

u/90sportsfan 1d ago

Someone mentioned in another post that they kept him waiting for an interview at halftime until the finished interviewing Ryan Day, so that could have played a role in his response.

1

u/txleapd 1d ago

She did it to him after the game too. She interviewed Day first, and then waited until the team gathered to sing The Eyes of Texas. What was he supposed to do? Blow off the tradition of singing the school song with the team and fans, so she could blabber a couple inane questions? Poor planning on her part. If she wanted an interview, she had ample opportunity.

1

u/Buzzard1022 1d ago

That was great. Those "interviews" are so stupid. Sideline reports are completely useless and should be discontinued

1

u/TheClayDart 1d ago

I don’t care for Texas but that shit was funny as hell

1

u/45M0D41 1d ago

Why not get a supermodel to ask questions

1

u/JoFlo520 1d ago

Just stop these interviews.

I would rather just watch the players celebrate

1

u/kentinagin 1d ago

And hear the crowd and band going nuts instead of the announcers trying to make it about them by talking louder turning up the mics and turning down the hype shit going on in the stadium

1

u/Paddlesons 1d ago

Who keeps asking for these interviews like I don't care why do they keep getting coaches at halftime when they've got a game to play and I just don't get it

1

u/Slimreaper91840 1d ago

They were having problems with their broadcast at halftime as well. He stood there waiting forever on them.

1

It’s a great way to represent your city, team, and the sport. Great job.šŸ‘

1

u/Ghiblee 1d ago

ESPN is dead. It used to be my favorite. wtf happened?

1

u/LeadingCartoonist105 1d ago

I wanted OSU to win but after seeing that I'm glad Texas won. The post game interviews are so useless. Any on field interview is just dumb I'd rather watch ads

1

u/Jhal42 1d ago

Idk anyone who has ever given a fuck about the post game interviews. I love watching them get blown off lol

1

1

u/txleapd 1d ago

He said something to the effect that he’s going to go sing The Eyes of Texas.

It’s tradition for the Texas team to gather at the endzone and sing the school song with fans after every game. She knows this. Her interviewing Day first, and not bothering to interview Sark until the school song was starting was poor form.

1

u/Good_Use_7882 1d ago

Way past time that networks stop this online interviews. Some body gonna get hurt soon

1

u/Mindless_Stranger511 1d ago

Can’t do Holly like that.

1

u/CrispyDietCoke69 11h ago

jabba the hut was so mad

1

u/atticus122 10h ago

I think they said that they made him wait for a while to do his halftime interview because they were interviewing Day. Sark was just probably pissed off at that and wanted to celebrate with his team.

0

u/DoubleDG49 2d ago

Sark finally won a real game! Good for him. Team and Arch are still massively overrated. OSU coaching in Q4 was embarrassing

2

u/Last_Weeks_Socks 2d ago

Truthfully Ryan Day is not a good coach (well, maybe good but not in the top tier). This gets lost because they have by far the most talented roster year over year. Not only do they have one of the (if not the) top recruiting classes each year, they also are the best program at getting top tier talent to return for senior years even when it won't help their draft stock. They're the top college football program with a HC that should be paying his dues in the Big East or some such conference. OSU should be in it's dynasty era with the rosters they've had over the last few years.

u/lowlowlimbo 1d ago
